View Full Version : Ideas for March meet!
As always, start throwing ideas around for our march meet! This one will be southern, so try to think York, Kittery, Eliot, Wells, Berwicks, etc.
I will put a couple old stand-bys
Ruby's in York
Wild Willy's in York

has anyone tried duffy's yet in kennebunkport?
Duffy's is awesome! I went there a lot when i lived right around the corner. great food and prices, space is ok, but we gotta plan ahead for that since they are busy all the time.

What about East Restaurant in Wells? They may be able to accommodate us and might also do a good job with it. http://www.eastdining.com/functions.shtml
or
My second vote is to go somewhere that is self serve. Cut out the 18% waitresses that aren't thrilled to have us. However, I'm not even 100% sold on this idea because the only place that comes to mind is the Kennebunk rest stop.
How 'bout the Great Buffet in Portsmouth?

Big lot, no need for advance notice, food for everyone, and speedy service.

Weird huh?
I was joking the other day that we should have meets at the mall. Lots of parking and a wide selection of food.
Next on should be at an Autozone. make everyone buy something from there and put it on their car.
Here's a list, it's not truly updated:
List (http://www.mainerestaurant.com/hoteladvdisplaydetailed.cfm?loc=southern%20maine%2 0coast&search_field5=Southern%20Maine%20Coast&searchtype=Restaurant&displaytype=vendor&loadcity=true&fieldnames=search_field5)
We could always do the cabaret place in Ogunquit *wink*
Nice list Kati! I do like the Idea of Ruby's, or Duffy's, or the East place in Wells. Gonna have to make some calls around and see who can manage us. I usually assume between 15-35 people.
Any ideas on a date?

+1
Well do we want to try a rest stop meet? I would be game for it.
I say we do a rest stop meet. On the last weekend of the month, with Joe's friends in attendance. Do you realize the oooohs and ahhhhhs a fleet of Subarus at the rest stop will drive!?! Imagine just getting in from a long drive into Maine, and BAMM tons of Subies sitting at a rest stop. If you were a Subie driver or admirerer, wouldn't YOU stop? Tag our cars with cards, head inside, get some Popeyes, and meet some friendly faces. YES! This is what I'm talking about!
I agree, it would be a very cool spectacle to see. Nothing but trees on either side, then BAM! fleet of subarus.

Lie you have no friends.
secondly If we do rest stop meet I am driving company truck to meet so I can tell the fine people at the Kennebunk toll booth I have "official business" to go check haha and NOT PAY THE TOLL to get there win for me
