Figured I'd start a member journal finally. Doing this a lil backwards because for the most part the car is done for the upcoming season.

Vehicle in question is my 05 lgt wagon, 5mt. Swp w/black limited line interior. I'm sure I'm missing some stuff... But the mod list consists of:

Engine/power:
Slowboy racing 20g 7cm housing (wrx/fitment)
Wbr fmic
Spt SRI (wrx fitment)
Gimmick turbo inlet
Witchhunter modified yellows 825cc
Goodridge braided/stainless oil feed line (removed banjo turbo killer filter of doom)
gt spec header/uppipe combo
Megan racing dp
Hand built 3'' single exhaust conversion
Grimmspeed 3port ebcs
Walbro 255
Southbend custom sprung clutch. Sprung for 600hp
ACT lightweight flywheel
Tuning courtesy of Matt from Wicked Innovation

Handling/brakes:
Cobb sport springs
Kartboy sts
Grouppe N tranny mount
brembos

Show/wheels:
Blacked out stock grille
Black pc'd hella horn bracket and hellas
Rbs front lip
Version 1 eyelids painted to match
Hi/low Apexcone HIDs
17'' ssr comps
17'' torques
04 Sti bbs
18'' maximm fourteens

I'm sure I'll be adding to this as I'm not completely satisfied with the setup yet. Upgrades are likely to include flipped sti manifold with new ic plumbing, coilovers, a crap ton of bracing and bushings.... so stay tuned. A couple newer pics for now. And yes I'm the king of horrible cell phone pics...

Do you like the 20g for normal driving?

Dusty B

Thanks again guys!

Nice setup!

Do you like the 20g for normal driving?

I actually was happily surprised by the way the car drives just around town without boosting... Sarah is really the only person that has ridden in the car under normal driving situations and the slight rip or two . So she may be able to step up and comment as well. I'm also enjoying a 4mpg increase in fuel economy... eventually the upgrade will pay for itself :spin:. It's only been "done" for about two weeks now. The car will need to be retuned when I get a new clutch in the car. We were aiming for 23psi, but the stock clutch (I know... stocker and 20g=no bueno, but I still wanted to see) started to slip once we got up in the 21psi range. Matt estimates even at 19psi the car is the 330whp range at least with some chunky torque getting up around 375.

Well ordered a new clutch on thursday. Ended up getting a southbend (dxd) clutch and having it sprung/built to hold almost 600ft/lbs. ACT will be taking care of my lightweight flywheel needs. Next on the list is installing the catch can I have, or spending the loot and getting the prova or grimmspeed AOS system. My car has been smelling a little oily and I really really really hope it's not a ringland.... Been checking oil consumption and it's not that bad. Noah and I were discussing it and just think I need the catch can or AOS with the honking snail on the side.

Don't have time to muck around with the install, and the car has been sitting all nice and clean in the garage. Dropping her off at Wicked Innovation tonight for Matt and Tom to work thier magic. Car should be done tomorrow night! :squee:

That is until something else lets go, or I change my mind again .

Thanks Art.

Welp.... won't know for sure until the clean up tune is done with the new clutch and turbo inlet... But Matt is guestimating the car will make around 350whp and high 300's for tq. We were down 3-4lbs and some timing where we stopped last time to save the clutch, and the car was already retarded fast then . Who the hell knows what it'll be like when I get it back now.

Tired of driving your truck around yet?

Surprisingly no. Kinda like that I'm keeping some miles off my car for once. When it was nice last week I did take it out and cruise a little bit warren g regulators stylzzzz

Soooo I suck about keeping things updated.... oops.

Things have been hectic with the new little man around the house and all.

Picked up a 07 grand cherokee back in april for Sarah and baby. And picked up a 99 fozz in june for me to DD and keep some miles off the leggy (I'll update this properly someday soon to keep track of all the cars .

Fozz is pretty fun.... 2.2T with 2.5 n/a SOHC heads, arp studs, cometic hg's, vf39, fmic, all running gear from 91 leggy ss (trans, rear lsd, all disk brake setup), wrx suspension with s-techs.... soooo I spend alot of time sparking my exhaust off stuff.

Ya know, I'm still surprised how many times a week I am asked how much I want for my rattle-canned forester

It's almost sad that if my fozz and my #whatever out of 1400 5mt wagon were parked next to each other, no one would notice the wagon :spin:

it would be a reeeeaalll hard decision. and not gonna lie, that foz would win the hell out of a lot of arguments for me  any idea what it has for HP? what ecu is it using? is there a tune..?

I have questions man! that toaster is just pretty. rattle can'd or not! haha

That's where it gets a little jenky . It's running a stock 99 fozz n/a ecu, which isn't tunable. I didn't want to go through the hassle of swapping in the early 90's SS ecu and go backwards to OBD1, and also aren't ready to invest the time and money to put my STI motor in her and do a harness merge, so I did my best to run the car this way without it blowing up:lol:. I really don't care too much about the car because I purely bought it for a fun winter beater/dd(and I also have a spare ej22t:)). I also put some stock wrx blues in her to keep detonation a little further away. I only run 8 psi on the vf39 and it's never seen a dyno so numbers are a big question mark. It's fun enough though, it will outrun the everyday honda you come accross which is good enough I suppose.

forester gets a massive stance 9.5/10, just needs the HP's to back that thang up!

Well.... debating breaking down the STI motor I have and starting to build that up. Really would like to go with a set of pistons and rods, maybe the nitrated STI crank and a mild set of cams. Before the leggy went into hibernation I did notice a jump in oil comsumption.... So I'm pretty sure I've had the ringland failure that us legacy guys run into. Not too shabby since being STG2 for about 30k and having the 20g hanging on it for 7k now (That's right Brian, I didn't even do 8k this entire year since I left your house )

Only other plans that I'm doing in the spring is probably a new set of wheels and some coilovers, courtesy of uncle sam.

Guess I'll put an updated front end pic up of her too.

You could say that.

But I also purposefully have extra money with-held every week and use the gov't as a piggy bank I can't get into all year. I work hard, might as well enjoy some of the return this year.

Not a bad route to go. If you get closer to pulling the trigger let me know. I have a buddy that's a parts manager for a subaru dealership. Just hooked up one of my co workers pretty well on a 2.0 shortblock.
