The weekend is aproaching fast... I dont think I'm gonna be racing, my bimmer needs way too much work to be subjected to any beatings.
And I bought this WRX so I could track my bimmer so I probably souldn't start tracking that car too.
Anyways, you guys will see me there... Maybe one of you would be kind enough to take me for a spin on the course.

What about strut bars. I see them under the STS guidelines. Not like it really matters too much in the end but oh well. Is that MR2 in STS? I'm about to edit my entry info to change class to GS. Should I?
Nate8409
08-14-2007, 09:09 PM

i'd car pool to the airshow save some people 20 bucks if any1 wanted to. The airshow is Sat-sun all day long, the F-15 demo team will be there along with a flyby of f-22's also there are over 80 flights planned out so it will be an all day affair. Plus walk throughs of planes an ****. Pretty cool stuff, anyone want to come up with me call me celli, 361-5545.

08-15-2007, 06:34 PM
I never autocrossed before I have a stage 2 sti what class would I be and I just need a helmet?
and about the airshow I'll be there sat for sure if its nice out. so its 20 bucks just to park or is that to get in?
TrickyDik
08-15-2007, 06:51 PM
I created an airshow thread here:http://www.seacoastsubarus.com/forums/showthread.php?p=16230#post16230
Try to keep the autocross thread clear of confusion for the two events. If mods (dicktatorz? lolz) want to move the airshow posts out of here cool, if not also fine.
Robk0000
08-15-2007, 07:18 PM
yes all you need is a helmet and make sure to take all lose object outa ur car prior to the event.

Tires?! How can I borrow them nate? You got some rims thatll fit the brembos too? I dont want to take off stiff sidewall tires then put them back on, bad news!
Practice makes perfect although I do agree that stiff sidewall tires are hardcore gayyy to deal with.
Murphy2012
08-15-2007, 09:18 PM
Ya, its not always good for the tires, thoguh. It softens em up a bit to keep flexing them in their opposite intended direction.
Silverwrx666, you would run in STU with me. You dont have boost punched past stock with the base stage two maps, so youd be all set in STU....kicking my ass...
Nate8409
08-15-2007, 09:35 PM
Stage 2 is different boost. SM is where he would be stuck.
Murphy2012
08-15-2007, 09:48 PM
Not with Cobb Stage 2 maps it isnt...
Murphy2012
08-15-2007, 09:49 PM
I lied, I think it is actually...which doesnt make sense to me....theres no need.
Run in SM, youll do fine, theres an 07 sti with TBE and AP stg 2 in SM, runs ****, simply runs ****.
Nate8409
08-15-2007, 10:05 PM
You have to run the cobb stage 2 STX map.
Murphy2012
08-15-2007, 10:11 PM
You mean STU?
Nate8409
08-15-2007, 10:31 PM

mdungelman
08-15-2007, 10:54 PM

mdungelman
08-15-2007, 11:07 PM

Nate8409
08-16-2007, 12:13 AM
Yupppp. Just use the stock one. If you win the category you can always tell them after that you want to change categories. But who cares. Just use the stock class.
DrewSTi
08-16-2007, 08:06 AM
Actually he would be in BSP, however at a SCCNH event its not really important since all the non-stock cars run against each other anyway. At an NER SCCA event it does make a diff since each car is broken down by class. the only diff would be in your PAX time which isn't important to anyone anyway. I always look at raw times. Last time I was head to head with Dave in his BSP STi.
aus_taz
08-16-2007, 01:32 PM
Yep last event was fun Drew.
For a cobb stage 2 map you should run BSP for a STI and some other SP class for a wrx not sure which one. The SP classes let you modify boost but not change the turbo. RAW time is what a lot of people are competing on now so PAX (which depends on class) is not so important.
I'll be at the BMW test and tune event this weekend to play with the suspension a bit and see what all these adjustments do.

Kevin
08-16-2007, 04:07 PM
I don't think I'm gonna make this one but the next one I should have my helmet. I think there is one more up there before winter.
I'm not worried about winning for a while maybe next year.
so is it bsp or stu and what would it be If I had a fpgreen and coilovers and a few other from stock mods?
thanks for all the answers
kevin
aus_taz
08-16-2007, 04:25 PM
Coilovers you can stay in the STX/STS/STU classes (depends on car and model). For these classes you are also restricted to a 245 wide tire with a treadwear rating of 140 or above (ie non r-comp) on any width rim you want.
If you modify the boost for a stock turbo (cobb stage 2) then your into the SP classes and you can use any tire width and can use r-comps.
If you start swapping the turbo then you end up in the street mod classes, SM. I think the whiteline anti lift kit puts you here as well or maybe even into the prepared classes where you really don't want to be.
If your not running at the top of the pack then no one will really care if your class is wrong but try to get it right so you can compare your times against similar cars.
DrewSTi
08-16-2007, 04:26 PM
As long as nobody is running R comps in Street Prepared I won't complain

Skidder
08-18-2007, 08:04 PM
No body should be laughing at anyone... it's just juvenile and its not what autox is about. They certainly wont laugh at you for tuning your car.
Some people might get a chuckle out of my poor driving skills, all-season tires, and dirt bike helmet ... but I say screw them... I'm here for fun.

The course was much better suited to WRX gearing yesterday. The last course was WAY too tight. First gear the whole way ftl!
