View Full Version : My new uber cool hood

starting to get the justy going again for this season, just been doing little stuff so far but have one major thing done.

nick (07extreme) painted his hood plaid on his wagon and came out great. Ive been wanting to do something to the hood (the red the previous owner put on that was like sandpaper paint was dumb looking and stating to fade)

So i asked nick if he wanted to do the same with mine, but different color scheme. We talked and came out with a plan. He drove an hour or so just to pick it. good guy this Nick.
He started by sanding the sand paper paint off (which he said was a *****) and taking off the scoop. after that he primed it.

After priming he put the first coat of yellow on...yes i said yellow.

After it dried he layed down the tape (dont ask how he figured this all out, smart kid. (notice the marks on the tape and pieces of tape mean something different)

After he figured that all out he layed down the pattern

After painting the blue on it and figuring out everything, i get this voila!

MAJOR PROPS TO NICK! He did this pretty quick and did a great job. He should paint full time for people, he would make massive dough.

I really like that!! Normally stuff like that makes me cringe, but it really truly is awesome! Props to Nick!

as of right now i just left his scoop white...i wanted to put the :unamused: face on it but he said it would be to distracting during a rally so i just left it plain...if we come up with a good idea itll be easy to change

but im so ready to be done with this hood, way to many hours into it, i need to get back to my engine swap haha...

hood is on. looks great, will take better pics ASAP. I have a photoshoot for GRM in a month or so. so maybe then
