So Im bored and did a couple things today to my car because its finally nice out, so I'll start..
Today I FINALLY put my RS fog lights in. too bad I couldnt find the wiring harness, so theyre just for show right now :unamused:. I also scraped the AWD sticker off the rear side windows because they were looking terrible.. debadged the "outback" off the hatch. and put on a new U on the back.. its said S BARU for a few weeks now...
so who else decided to do some work on their cars today?

.... this was done yesterday because the stock pads were shot and I wanted something a bit better....

and for ****s and giggles, here is the whole car. In a few weeks things should be changing up that will make it look the way I had envisioned when I bought it

Lets see, I started to put my summer wheels on... my sweet impact gun lasted a grand total of 5 lugs off and 4 lugs on before it died, at which pointed I heaved it into my driveway.
I did 2 wheels normally, 3rd wheel the ****ing adapter for the lugs stripped itself after the initial tightening.. so now, I have 3 wheels on, 2 are good to go, 1 needs full tightening and 1 is the winter rim.... ****
I am not one to care about money, but I am sick to my stomach that I paid for both of these. I want to kick someone up side the ****ing head.

I would have pulled out the ID, you may have been doing the wrong thing by speeding, but money in your pocket and not in the states is the way to go. I was going to say if you apply for a hearing you could beat it, not all cops show up for court, and since your record has nothing on file except for this, you may have a good chance of getting it dismissed or cut in half. I would still appeal if i were you.

I thought about doing it and showing up in my work uniform just to be a di** but.. knowing my luck it would be on a day I have to work.. and I dont like missing work if I dont have too. I really had no argument anyway. although my speedometer does stick at 40 a lot, so I could just claim it said that.. though, they may wonder why I have a speedometer that only reads 40mph..... :spin:

Actually there is a trick you can do with the p/s belt where you wrap it around the crank pulley and alternator then tuck it into itself and torque the crank bolt. I'd tell you more about it but I'm too tired to remember it all. Also, may want to replace crank bolt, they stretch over time and are like 2 bucks from a dealer.

after 23 years, bent, banged straight, and two broken studs replaced after the unknown sideways smack into something hard...
I bought the old scoob a brake hub. :D
I mention this..as it is elusive. The more I welded, replaced struts etc.. the more a wiggle was revealed in the cold... all bearings tight, cv greased and tight..but not too tight...and no scrape noise on the backplate..that meant the whole freakin thing was wiggling, trailing arm, etc... that needs large mass. As wheel is perfect on t-rated...
sneaky bugger must be cracked behind the axle nut...that is all that is left to think about...will update in the member journal when installed.

I was pulled for 80 in a 55. I was MAYBE doing 70, and the guy in the left lane was passing me. Went to court and the prosecution started with "I've seen what that car can do...". I was like, "Look, just because I can doesn't mean I did!" So, he cut me a "deal" to knock the charge down to 70 in a 55 because the guy that pulled me was a Sargent of the traffic division that just so happened to have a 100% success rate.

-Got tires mounted
-Drove a bit
-Realized in the 2 mile drive I made that I got 1) a sharp rock stuck in the tread, 2) a small shard of metal in the thread
-Took care of those, also noticed the shop I went to only cleaned off 2 of the rim mating surfaces & only 2 rotor top hats
-Drove some more
-Realized the tires felt like they were out of static balance.
-Looked at tires, realized that only *1* of the tires had the high/low points matched properly (aka matched, the other 3 weren't even close or close to 180 degrees)
-Facepalm'd to Eric in text messages

well it poured in Ct today, i was jsut driving around, saw this puddle that filled my side of the road, not thinking it was going to be very deep i progressed through (note there was a red light ahead of me so i clutched in as i drove through puddle). so i wsa like DAMMM that was sickk, cause the water was like a huge wave commin from both sides of the car.... then to find out when the light turned green, i got on the gas... car bogged a bit then just shut off.... apparently the water got into the intake and sucked all the water throughout the manifold and after trying to start it 5 times it started but bogged the whole time. I revved it quite a bit until i huge plume of vapor shot out of my exhaust... ughhh when pulling away the car wasnt running the same... so i gotta take apart the MAF and intake tomorrow

I began the installation of an Aquamist HFS3 water/methanol injection system. This is the gauge cluster, which includes a MadDad boost gauge and the Aquamist display. The gauges are not yet connected.
Next step is to remove the front bumper and install injection system hardware in the windshield washer reservior and install the pump. That will hopefully happen next Saturday.
My goal is to have the system installed and re-tuned in time for WBM!

Ed, thanks!
There are a few issues that the system will address;
1. My stock injectors are currently at 98%, not leaving any head room
2. My A/F ratio is 11.1/1 (no wonder the injectors are maxed out)
Of course, the rich A/F ratio is prevent detonation, so there's a lot of fuel getting dumped to do that. This is the water/meth injection system really shines - enhanced detonation protection with a leaner A/F ratio. I should drop the IDC to under 90% and lean out the A/F to 11.5/1. I will be using AutoZone Valucraft -20 degree washer fluid, which is 32% methanol/68% water.
I have no plans on dialing in more boost, but I will take a bit more timing.
The end result will be a better tune and probably a pickup of 10 to 15 HP (and more torque too).
The 4EAT so far is holding up fine, no doubt due to my consevative driving habits. No plans on changing that!

Hey Dean,
Looking for 225-45-17 :)
I was told since these wheels do not have a lip/flat spot on the inside for the weight to rest/stick on that the weight had to be on the outside. Unless you know some kind of secret or something that others haven't told me that would be helpful and would appreciate it :)
Thanks
