I spotted this at nasioc. I do not go there, but once in 300k threads someone asks an adult question.

" if to meet someone from subaru.. who would you pick, and what questions to ask?"

I would love to meet the 3 main boxer generation of engineers and designers, (marketers can go to hell)

I would love to know who hacked the boxer, and took solid states away, then flip flopped the price into outrageous, and pretend today is better than ever. From strength, to economy, to duarability... to lack of facts written..who killed the subaru?

..and an autograph of the EA engine engineering team...:)

I want to meet someone in marketing and persuade them to send us some JDM goodies for a change.

If you want to know who killed any sense in the engineers, they will point you to the marketers (those people you didn't want to talk to)

We are constantly being laid low by the bean counters, telling us to reduce cost and produce this and that when none of it makes much sense... but all in the name of sales and marketing. Then those guys get huge incentive and bonuses and we just keep making our salary, sitting in the back room designing the **** they live off of.

Sorry.... /engineer-rant. I know plenty of marketing and sales guys that are cool, but that is far from the norm in the tech industry when it comes to what really drives engineering.

I couldn't agree more.

Every time I sit in a newer Subaru I see the interiors get worse and worse... injection molding in the 08+'s makes me cringe :(

I know Subaru has never been one for following trends... but c'mon! they just put auto up windows in the 2010 Legacy :unamused:

You know who I want to meet?

The guy who decided to make the STi a 40k car.

So true. Don't get me wrong, if I felt more of the money went into using more "track-ready" parts then I wouldn't think it is so outrageous. But to be honest, the gap between WRX and STI is getting slimmer and slimmer.

Look at the other cars you can buy for $40K. There are some very nice options out there. :(

Then again, Subaru was one of the few companies still making a profit during the car crunch. :dunno:

So true...But I still look at "other" cars at the 38k price range and I'd prob still pick the STI. But again everyone values different things in a car sooooo yea. This was probably the least intelligent thing I've ever posted on this forum to date

If you max a 2010 STi out with all the options: $45,891.00

Don't get me wrong. I love my STI and I'd buy one again.
