So my dad is letting me drive his old 02 foresterX. Yeah. It's an auto, but I can't complain cause it's a free car. I am digging the extra cargo space though, that has been nice to have. The only thing is, I can't stand the acceleration, so slow. I've been trying to do a little research on NA cars, but there isn't much out there for foresters besides the XT models. I'm hearing headers, exhaust, crank pulley, CAI, are all pretty cheaply and quickly attainable. Any thoughts?

SRI or cai, crank pulley, rallitek auto trans mount.
You should also consider doing the grounding mod as well.

Throwing bucks at a non-turbo, automatic Forester with the goal of making it faster is a pointless exercise. It'll be louder but won't move much quicker.
Handling mods are what make Subarus sans turbos shine. Unfortunately the Forester isn't the best model to start with.
I recommend the "Impreza" mod.
