Just a reminder to everyone to get the little things done in your spare time. I've been putting off my oil change and should get to it this weekend finally.
The cause of this reminder however?
I've been having random stall outs(yes in the automatic!) and points where I have to give it a little gas to keep from the revs plumetting into a stall. Will happen at different points, temps, times of day, or traffic.
These symptoms as I've gotten a second to get more reading into it are a dirty MAF sensor.
I pulled out the unit. Cleaned it up with vinegar (yes I said vinegar. Like food vinegar.) You need to use something that won't leave a residue or film. Some brake cleaners can be used but make sure it says "leaves no residue". Was tempted to use the carb/choke cleaner but didn't want to risk it cause it didn't say anywhere about no residue. Well I simply pulled it out without taking the air box cover off when I did, I forgot about the mounting plate inside, SOOO I had to pull it to get it remounted and... Dirty looking air filter! So I go to pop it out and at least bang it.

Not to make a mountain out of a mole hill but that's at least a small mound I swear! That was just the first bump. And under it in the actual box...
A beach! If you think lady's are cranky with sand in their V's cars are also cranky with sand stuck in places!

Shop vac'd it then scrubbed it all out and revaccumed it out.
Let this be a reminder to check all the little things.
My list that needs to get done.
Fuel filter
fuel pump(this is what I started doing this morning, but got to a point where I just put it all back together)
oil change
new air filter
brake pads and maybe rotors
clean throttle bodies(SVX has two)
check fluids, lines, and make sure no leaks.
Belts and maybe some light accessory pulleys.
