i have bought almost all my stuff off of nasioc to be honest. i have really got some of the sickest deals.
for actual vendors, i've used
gruppe-s (amazing)
world one performance (also amazing) and even some stuff of ebay.
world one is def my favorite to deal with! super quick and awesome service. drop them a link and ask for jonathan, tell them dan (2mprzya) sent you their way.

i always thought strut bars are useless, but then again i have them...coilovers, or just get springs and struts, beyond that im sure your going overkill

front strut bars are useless on imprezas because they sit almost flush to the firewall, the rear ones aren't to bad of an idea. sways and endlinks with spring/struts or coilovers will make a BIG difference!

Cheap/used is king:
Homemade CAI: free
Amsoil filter: used on NASIOC
Front & rear Whiteline endlinks: used on NASIOC
16" MY00 RS rims: used on NASIOC
20mm rear sway: new from subaruparts.com [way back when]
..and various other smallish bushings and mounts new, mostly from NASIOC vendors.
The only major part I paid full price for was the Brullen cat-back. Big bucks but haven't had to touch it in nearly 6 years & 75k miles.

A good set of springs will do wonders for how you car handles. Biggest improvement will be from alignment and tires...

I found some odd places for sube stuff.
summit racing, jegs...
old subes have alot more to relate to old stuff, but I know summit has sways, billet filters, and anything that is simply generalized for newer.

I've been recently buying my stuff from subimods
but for all of the suspention based mods on my car, I got from turninconcepts.com
I got my stage TBE from Subimods who was very inexperienced at sending stuff to an overseas APO/AE address costing me almost 400$ and a 7 hour trip to pick my stuff up. I wont use them again until im back in the states.
got my TMIC from fredbeansparts.com who charged me NO shipping overseas apo/ae and got it here in less than a week, i will buy from them exclusively while overseas and be my first choice when im stateside.
and i picked up my STP cold air intake at a dealership with an STP store attached to it in CO.
