So I put on my new bell mouth downpipe and it comes in contact with the hose on the firewall; the AC drain hose I think. Should i remove it? Leave it and just let it melt? Have you guys figured out any solutions to this common problem?

In case you were wondering this install turned out to be a major *****... only because my car has way more rust than any 3 yr old car should have. It took me a full day and I didn't gut my up-pipe because this took so damn long.

Shoulda asked me for help, I have a garage and the weekend off. As far as the line goes, you can tuck it to the firewall, at least thats what I did with mine. You can cut it a little bit so it wont hit, but then you got the water hitting the DP. I think the best thing to do it tuck it away. Mine burnt on my huge ass 4" DP and I had the smoke coming through my vents! I was ****ting a brick as I was climbing Mt. Washington with it while it started to burn.

At least the pipe is in now.

If you are concerned get some heat tape and wrap it around the hose. Even it might not work it is worth a shot. Or just let it melt and say who cares.

I tucked it out of the way... has about an inch clearance from the DP. It hasn't melted yet. I'll figure out what to do with it before next summer.

The DP is in and the car is faster... thats all I care about.
