What are my options for changing the faces of my gauges? Ideally I'm looking for OEM; just red instead of green. So far all I can find are these tacky-ass blue ones that I don't think would even fit.

I had those...i ripped them off and went DIY, looks stock but when the lights come on the numbers and stuff are different colors...as far aschanging the actual appearance, get aftermarket gauges like the ones that go in clusters and make a fiberglass enclosure for them that fit into your stock location

to change it like what i have done, takes about 6 hours, +$50 in parts

including:
LEDS
Wire
Solder
Soldering gun
Gel Color material
Electrical tape

all of which i have that i can lend to you if need be, except LEDs, im out and they are pricey! i can get them cheap if you need.

Yeah, I've thought about switching every source of green illumination in my interior to red; similar to the new 08 STI. Just the thought of how much work that would require makes my brain hurt though.

okaya okay, i couldnt figurre out how to do pic without flash, so i jsut did a manual pic, Still no flash but it had a long exposure, i think you get hte point though, also there are two spots where the red is white, Thats unnoticeable during the day, so im going to fix that tomorrow.

Wow I want red lights on the inside too! Looks like I will be sending you a PM rob.

As a side note is there any way to get the true WRX climate control stuff in a TR sedan, or is that just not reasonable?

Ya you can, but why spend the money on controls? LAME...

just looking into options and such now. if i ever replaced that, it would be a pull from a junkyard or something. i would never order the actual unit. just lookin into options, ya know.

perhaps dual climate control is not appealing to you, but it is to me. i also like the actual controls more too. i may one day attempt to install seat heaters into the TR sedan seats. warm seats during cold winter is f*kin sweet.

No, there is a green illuniating painted texture on the back of these style of gauges, you could just peel off the green and then put a red bulb, but it wont be bright enough to see the numbers. Leds are the way to go.

i actually debated this for a while in my head. problem is i am not really a fan of leather seats. they are super cold in teh winter, super hot in teh summer, and when the leather starts to crack and whatnot they look like ****.

i dunno. leather is nice, but i don't think its for me. yet.

Gauge faces FTL :( I swapped out mine on my Cavalier, ended up ****ing up my entire cluster... Drove for 4+ months w/o any speedo, temp gauge, or gas gauge...

I wont mess with them ever again!

Yeah the gauge clusters are delicate. I have heard a bunch of horror stories about this stuff.

However, some of the guys on NASIOC wrote up a great tutorial. I think this will be one of my projects this summer.

Ya, I had leather in my old truck and thought I was going to have the same issues when I first got it. But to be honest, I never once gold frozen or burned by them, they were ****in sweet as ****. I would like to get some now but thats last on my list.
