I went to Durham market today to get some grocery items to consume around 4ish. I was no more then 10 steps out the door and noticed a large truck backing out of their parking spot(about the middle of the lot uphill of my parked cars location) then when they were clear I could see my car(pretty as is it~ok~) parked at the Farrrr/Down hill side of durham market(so I could avoid other ppl). As I looked at my car I then saw the culprit moving in on at a faster rate then me.

I started running myself towards my car to try and beat the culprit to said vehical, as I reached out my hand and tryed to yell "noooooo" (kinda in that dane cook style. ya know the joke about the guy getting hit by the car.) the culprit(a hard metal shopping cart) impacted and bounced off my RF fender on the turn signal~crying~. Upon impact I could see it instantly dent and crease the wafer thin metal subaru calls a body.

I can only speculate that the person in the truck left their shopping kart in the middle of the lot(uphill of me) where it shouldn't be left and preceded to leave, driving next to the cart that they just left as it also preceded to leave on its trip into my car.

I felt like the guy from the old jetta commerical when he tackles the cart to save his car from getting dented. I only felt like him cause I never got there in time to tackle the cart and I think if I had tackled it I would have hit it into my car more, as my path of travel was straight at my car.:(

contemplating the costs I may have my insurance fix it. They said I'm not at fault(naturaly) and if it costs under $1000 they wont hike up my rates.

no pics. I have no digi cam.:(

The hard part is I saw it happen and couldn't stop it. plus I went out of my way to park it there so I could Be out of the way. Next time I supose I should park at the top of the hill.
