View Full Version : 05-07 Taillight Swap.

How easy is it to swap in some 05 Sedan taillights into an 07 Sedan? Is it plug-and-play, or are there mods involved? I'm not a fan of the chrome look of my 07's lights, so I've been thinking of trying to find some 05's in good condition at a scrapyard.

Yup, plug and play....unless you want to JDM mod them. There are a couple of configurations that you can do to the 05 tails. Dungleman and I have one way, and proxy has the other. Both nice, IMO. You could always cut open your tails and black em out!

Time to go rummage through the scrapyard for some 05's. :)

Why not take yours and paint the interior shields? its fairly simple, takes like 2 hours tops.

Ya, thats the way proxy has his set up. Mine is such that the circle bulb only lights while the lights are on. Looks really JDM....I think both configurations can be found at scoobymods.com.

I found a wiring diagram for this exact modification on Scoobymods, but in the very real chance of me getting confused and starting to hit things, I'll let you know.:D

I asked a friend if he wanted to help me look around local salvage yards for the taillights, but he seems to think it's going to be impossible to find. He says, like Toyota, Subaru buys back all of the cars and parts. Is this true?

If it is, anyone know anybody selling a spare pair of 05 lights on the cheap?

I found a swap on the nesic private classifieds. It was so worth it. I think it only took a few weeks to find someone.
