Ya, so, my hard drive **** the bed. Had a brownout at my house last friday, which apparently killed the HD. My UPS system apparently didnt prevent anything from happening, which makes me happy that money was spent on it, and it didnt do its job. So, anyone wants to get in touch with me call the cell.

contact ur UPS manufacturer. its probably good for at least 10-25k if u bought anything good, i think mine is for like 250k

What do you mean? I honestly dont remember what I spent on it, like 200 or so, its a nice piece. Ill look into it and see what I can come up with.

whast the model? most UPSs protect the equipment behind them in the case the UPS does not protect your electronics. i just checked my PF60 and it protects up to 1million $~ok~

they warranty your electronics you ahve plugged into the usp. That way you may get a free HD.

I am surprised someone has not built a fix into hard drives or the computer system by now to protect against brown outs.

I have a whole house surge protector, and a backup syst on my pc and video center, never had a problem in the 8 years ive lived here

Ya, Ill look into it. It was an old IDE drive, about three years. I talked to my buddy and he said that most IDEs that old are starting to fail anyway, and a brownout would easily cause it. Yet, still no excuse for the UPS system not protecting it.

what size ide is it? i just picked up for 400gb ide for 70$

Brownouts are funky. Weird things can happen when electronics are run under powered.
