Hi fellas,
So i just picked up a cobb turbo back, id install it myself but dont really have the time. Theres a meineke up the street, should i go there and have them do it? Or are there any other places in the southern maine/ NH area that do good work?

I usually have the guys at Exeter Subaru do work that I can't do myself... not always the cheapest but never had any issues with them!

Its a simple install... I would go wherever they give you the cheapest quote.

But stay and supervise them because the cheapest places are also hacks.

I'm willing to bet Terry would be happy to help you, if you can get to Central NH for it. I would talk to him first.

TDC is $75 an hour and do an awesome job.

It should only take them 1-2 hours

thanks for the feedback so far guys! portland tint quoted me at about $300 and meineke quoted me at $66/ hr. The guy told me it wouldnt be more than $100, which sounds rather enticing...but then again its meineke. hmmmm

do you have the gaskets?

Meineke will charge out the ass for those.

I wouldn't suggest them.... they ****ed my old car up. Dented all 4 qaurter panels switching out my struts.

ok so i just got back from meineke....wanted to see what they would say. Lets just say they are not touching my car! Three of them stood around my car and exhaust trying to figure out what piece went where. I spoke with the guy from Portland Tint and he thinks they can do the exhaust and sway bars ( just bought them too) for around $300. I am trying to spend as little cash a possible but that does seem reasonable... Anyone willing to help me out with installing these parts myself? Ill bring the beers....

id do it if i was home. the only issue with the turboback is going to be getting rusty bolts off. Depending what shape it's in, some pbblaster could take care of it easily. I'd def recommend doing this yourself.

there shouldnt be too much rust....the car is only 3 months old

Like I said, PM Murphy2012. He has lifts and more tools than you could possibly need to do those 2 jobs.

I just did Front and Rear Sways on my 07, and it was fairly Straight Forward. It did take about 5 hours though, but I was being slow.... and I broke a bolt. The absolute hardest part is getting the brackets around the bushings properly aligned. (I used a ballpeen hammer :D)

It's always satisfying to do this stuff yourself. I strongly recomend attempting it.

i absolutely love working on cars, however i am a college student up in Maine and i have no tools, etc to do anything myself. Its a big bummer. I restored my '71 monte carlo from a POS to a $25000 beast. The thing was mint....i miss her :(

I talked to him yesterday. He said he's been having some computer trouble, and can only get on here using his PSP web browser.

Who needs tools when you've got friends? (with tools)

if you could tell me to give me a call, pretty sure he has my number, and see if he might be able to get some time to help me with my springs, that would be AWESOME
