Okay trying to lay out a build for a friend's L build. Basicly Supercharged build and a Frankenstein'd 257 in it. Now I have a lead on a 257 buy need some internals. I have a 205 crank and rods sitting at the house and think it best to order some forged pistons for it. Any changes as a result of 205 rods in the 257(using 257 crank)? Compression, stoke, anything effected?

What? And why wouldn't you use 257 rods? Or aftermarket.

Cost. And cause I already have the 205 rods just sitting here. Want all the info so I can bring to my friend and make him choose how much he wants to spend and on what.
A true Frankenstein's monster. The best outnofnwhat he can piece together.

if your going to spend money on the pistons you might as well spend it on 257 rods. from what i've been told they arn't that strong to begin with and limits the power on tunes for stock wrx motors.

Still waiting for resulting effects of WRX rods in an STi block...

That seems like it's taking a step back...

It's taking a baby step and on the cheap. He's not looking for big power and has only so much budget to work around. I just don't want to expend energy building his 2.2 or another 2.2 when I can get him 257 shortblock that has no rods or pistons on the cheap. He'll probably never go past 10lbs with this engine as it will sit when I'm done so I'm not worried just curious.
