ok so I just recently got done doing a clutch/flywheel job and am trying to get the cvs back into the center diff, problem is on the end of the shaft there is a snap ring similar to a piston ring, I guess it would be best called a c clip as to it's appearance. I guess after 03 on the RS cvs they stopped using the pins and went to these c clips, problem is I suspect they need to be replaced as they look loose on there like they are worn out or something. I am guessing these are a dealer only part and probably cost waaay more than what they are worth....anyway I can't get the CV all the way in and don't want to force it for fear of shearing part of this clip off and having it sit inside the gearbox just to get chewed up or ship a tooth on something or other. So I guess what I am asking is do you reuse these, compress them somehow so they fit? or just get new ones? anyone ever deal with this before?
