I just noticed my clutch started slipping this morning. With over 100k on the clock I guess I shouldn't be surprised, but I did just get the car a month ago. :(

Anyways, does anyone know where I can take it who knows what they are doing and won't pull down my pants on the price? I have no idea how much it would/should be on a Subie.

Thanks in advance.

I don't have a garage... :(

But if anyone on here does want to do it I can offer a discount on my RX-7 for sale...;)

Synaptic3? Maybe a straight clutch install is a waste of their talents, I dunno..

Sounds like a good opportunity to get that Exedy upgrade clutch and light(er) flywheel.

Do you have the white RS sedan here at Liberty Borthwick?

Yep, that's me!

I called Synaptic before and they were backed up for two weeks plus labor rates were kinda high-ish (95/hr). I don't mind paying for service, but I don't think I need that level of qualification for a clutch install. :)

hmmm mines chatters like a bastard and it's really pissing me off. It's time to be replaced. Maybe we could get some people together some weekend before it gets cold and do it at my moms place. There is plenty of room and nobody is around on the weekends.

Sounds sweet, but I haven't done anything as remotely complex as a clutch before, I don't know how much help I'd be...

If you wanted to do it your self, i have access to a lift and a garage with tools for $6/hour on the navy ship yard. I go there all the time for my car. I haven't done a clutch swap on a suby yet, but I'm always willing to lend a hand.

No worries. Replacing a clutch is no more complicated then changing brake pads. Just more time consuming.

Lightweight Flywheel Rocks, get the whole package you wont be Mad!

I got an Competition Clutch kit, it was an 8 puck clutch disk, stiffer pressure plate, bearing thinggy and 11lb flywheel. ~$500 from a friend. Install was about ~12 hours Diy...Sucked balls i wouldnt do it again, only cause i had to make my own lift.

on my old 04 I went with a spec stage 1 clutch and lightweight flywheel and hated it. I will never put one on my daily driver ever again.

other then that I know ted (nhsilversti) is cheap and very good. he might be able to help you out.
