Well i pick up this car in october last year for cheap. It had 188k with a bad clutch. I limped it home and toss a new clutch in. The plans are to have a fun reliable daily driver.http://i835.photobucket.com/albums/zz275/xtrmjeep/subie.jpg
This is the car after putting on the outback hood and bumper.
Than i got some legacy sport seats.

Made my own intake out of a WRX cold air intake and a MAF adapter.http://i835.photobucket.com/albums/zz275/xtrmjeep/100_0475.jpg
http://i835.photobucket.com/albums/zz275/xtrmjeep/100_0471.jpg
Painted it semi flat black and welded on a WRX muffler as well.

The car was a brighton so it didnt have a tach so i pick up one from a junk yard and swapped that it too. Future plans are to make a nicer exhaust, rear disc swap, rims and maybe turbo it some day.

It sound ok but still need to fix the leak up by the cat. Its not a deep boxer rumble. I like to call it the mini boxer rumble lol.

Update!
I ended up buying some wrx wheels with some snow tires!

Kinda of been low on cash lately with X mas and just doing the timing belt, water pump and crank seal on the legacy. Than doing the U joint, wheel bearing and ball joints on my jeep killed me.

Thanks and yes it was. I was going to sell and save up to get an impreza but figured it was already inspected and register that I might as well fix it. Plus I got sick of driving my jeep every day. The jeep isnt the best DD have 32" mud tires and it was cold!

Thanks guys. The first gen legacy's had disc rear brakes in all models I believe. Mine is the base model brighton. Didn't even come with ABS! I liked the steel rims at first but when I put the wrx rims on I like those a lot better. Tomorrow I'm going to work a bit on the grill and look for wrx front brakes.

They were so slow back then it just wasn't necessary.

I have never had a problem coming down from high speed in my Leggy (that is about 65mph)

I didn't even now they made 1st gen brightons. Good to know. The stock brakes on legacy's suck! The first month I had the car I warped the front rotors. But I wasn't driving the car like subaru intended it for!

Did some painting last night! I never like how the gauges were black on black so I painted the plastic piece around the gauges and the needles red. I also changed the color of the dash lights from green to red. It was a pain in the ass but well worth it I think.

Latest pic of the wagon. This was about 11 am coming down my drive way. At one point the snow was coming up over the hood.

Hey It's looking really nice, gives me more hope for my brighton. When you installed the Tach did you have to replace the whole gauge cluster or did you just install the tach itself? I'm hoping to grab one of those hoods and bumpers some day. But I have to fix some rust and replace some doors and wheels and whatnot first/as well lol.

P.s. Want to flat black mine out?

boxerturbo
01-13-2011, 09:10 AM
Thanks! I just replaced my complete cluster. All the extra plugs are there already for the tach. Ill help you with painting it flat black. I just spray bombed my car. Just go buy 6 can of paint, some sand paper, acetone, masking tape and news paper. We could have the whole car done in 2 hours.
