Hey everyone, SCCNH is hosting three winter-x events in ME this year, and I plan on attending, maybe racing in all of them. There are classes for FWD no studs and studded, RWD no studs and studded, and AWD no studs and studded. It is a plowed path with a few inches of packed snow, saw some pictures from last years event and it looks pretty badass! I would love to go see some miatas and **** running around in the snow, and of course, the subies! Let me know if anyone wants to come! ~ok~

I'm down... how far away is Bethel? Is the whole series going to be held that far north?

Yes anyone can race, and its not a real rally. Its like an auto x but on snow. Hence the name winter x

I'll go if its not too serious.. I don't want people getting all bent out of shape if I run over a bunch of cones or something

People dont care, its all about fun with SCCNH man, thats the cool thing about them. SCCA is a little more uptight, which is why i dont run with them yet, being a NOOb to autox and all.~ok~

This is at Poor Corner Farm, home of local Group 2 rally hero Chris Duplessis. Good group of people. Should be fun, laid back, snowy rally-x events.

Their place is on US 2 over the Maine border from Gorham, NH. Probably 2.5 hours from Portsmouth/Dover.

Where do you read Saturday? I'm on sccnh.org right now and I can't find any dates.

But we should caravan for sure... I just hope I can get a concrete date for this event so I can take the day off.

SCCNH just posted dates on their site for all three events.

Event # 1: Saturday, January 12, 2008 - Registration starts at 8am, first car at 9am.
Event # 2: Saturday, February 2, 2008 - Registration starts at 8am, first car at 9am.

Apparently this Saturday's race [1/12] is cancelled due to warm weather/melted snow. I expect www.sccnh.org will have details.

I was wondering if that might happen... it was so nice today I decided to detail my car.

Now apparently it has not been cancelled. They're waiting until the last minute to call it.

If it's on your schedule, make www.sccnh.org (http://www.sccnh.org) your friend, or for best results, join the SCCNH Yahoogroup.

"event is off due to a grass only condition ". We can only run with a solid snow cover. Our insurance is for a an event on snow with good snow banks to catch us when we blow a turn. Also Pooh Corner Farm does not need to have us rip up their field. We will try again on Saturday Feb 2.

So SCCNH say its on for tomorrow... Anyone planning on atending? Should be a pretty slick course if we get the mixture of precipitation the weather guy is calling for. I'm only goping if theres someone to hang with.
