buying a 2006 legacy I limited

Ok, so my girlfriend is thinking about buying a 06 legacy I limited. Its the sedan with 39,000 for 12k. I want to do an inspection on the car before she buys it because the last 2 cars she's had there has been issues. I just dont want her getting screwed because i'm the one who's talking her into getting a subaru.

So the reason i'm posting this is because i'm wondering if there are any area's of the car I should look at. Its a non turbo car so i doubt it was modded, but what should I look for? Are there any common problems with this car? Just curious.

Has the 30k service been done? If not insist that is petformed or that $500 is taken off the price.
How does the oil look?
Are the tires original?
How are the brakes?
Ask a subaru dealer for the warranty history. If its not for sale at a subaru dealer ask the seller to provide it for you.
If a subaru dealer is not selling ut ask to have it inspected by a subaru dealer.

Yes she bought it, its in awesome condition other than the dents on the hood from hail or whatever. It had the 30k maintenance done and seems fine. I think i'm going to change her plugs in a few months for her.

Some small time dealership in Chicopee ma. She didnt get much of a deal on it, but its an all around nice car.
