me?
My nickname as a kid was bulldog because it sounds like my last name.
I signed up for AOL email in 1995 and bulldog was already taken
So I settled for Bu11dogg2. :)
I came up with mine when i had a GS-R. The car had proxy tires on it so i came up with ProxyGSR which changed to ProxyWRX when i got my rex. so simple.

So back in college one of the guys I worked with in the mall pulled me aside and said something along the lines of: "Don't you get it? All your guy friends like you. You're that girl. I liked you when I met you in high school. They either have, do or will like you. Like Mary but it's like something about Sarah. You're that girl." Someone had "that girl" already on the first forum I joined so I added the x's for decoration. </end dorky story>

Murphy2012
09-29-2008, 10:05 AM
2012 is claimed by some with New age (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_age) beliefs to be a great year (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_year) of spiritual transformation (or alternatively an apocalypse (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apocalypse)). There is disagreement among believers as to whether 2012 will see an end of civilization, or humanity will be elevated to a higher level.[14] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2012#cite_note-Religioustolerance-13)
Many esoteric sources[15] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2012#cite_note-14) interpret the completion of the thirteenth B'ak'tun (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baktun) cycle in the Long Count (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maya_Long_Count_Calendar) of the Maya calendar (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maya_calendar) (which occurs on December 21 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/December_21) by the most widely held correlation) to mean there will be a major change in world order.
Astrologer John Jenkins has determined that on this date, there will be "an extremely close conjunction of the northern hemisphere winter solstice (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Winter_solstice) sun with the crossing point of the Galactic equator (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Galactic_equator) and the ecliptic (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ecliptic)", an event that will not be repeated for thousands of years. [14] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2012#cite_note-Religioustolerance-13) [16] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2012#cite_note-15)
Several authors have published works which claim that a major, world-changing event will take place in 2012:
The 1997 book The Bible Code (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Bible_Code) by Michael Drosnin (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Drosnin) claims that, according to certain algorithms of the Bible code (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bible_code), an asteroid (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asteroid) or comet (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comet) will collide with the Earth.
The 2006 book 2012: The Return of Quetzalcoatl (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quetzalcoatl) by Daniel Pinchbeck (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daniel_Pinchbeck) discusses theories of a possible global awakening to psychic connection by the year 2012, creating a noosphere (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Noosphere).
Patrick Geryl (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Patrick_Geryl&action=edit&redlink=1) predicts a pole reversal (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geomagnetic_reversal). This has happened many times in the past. Geryl also predicts that the Earth will start rotating in the opposite direction, although a geomagnetic reversal does not require the Earth to change its rotation direction. He does not explain from where the required energy will come. The Earth functions as a gigantic gyroscope. The energy required to rotate the poles would be immense.[17] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2012#cite_note-16)
Riley Martin (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Riley_Martin) claims that Biaviian aliens will allow passage aboard their 'Great Mother Ship' when the Earth is 'transformed' in 2012.
Terence McKenna (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terence_McKenna)'s numerological (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Numerology) novelty theory (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Novelty_theory) suggests a point of singularity (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Technological_singularity) in which humankind will go through a great shift in consciousness.

09-29-2008, 11:20 AM
Mine comes from my days owning a rusty '90 Sentra. I paid up less than $500 including purchase price over the year I owned it, and while it had positively zero options, it did have pop out rear windows and no muffler, both of which I loved. As such, I thought Nissan should start buying up all remaining examples and reselling them, 6 to a package, for $3.99. A ValuePack, if you will.

I used to be known as "Guido" everywhere I went back in the BBS days. Then I got on the Internet in like '94 and started using it there. Sadly, in '96 I met an actual dude named Guido, and deciced to give up the name (like a moron).
So, instead, I used Dr. Dabble from a game my brothers had...because he stole someone's brain...and who doesn't like a good brain stealin'?! Dabble turned to Dabbles...as in dabbles in this, dabbles in that, and I kept the Dr.
Alternatively, some of my friends call me "Uncle Tommy"...because I'm a filthy old man inside a filthy young man's body. Well, that and "Uncle Tom" has certain connotations I didn't want following me around.

Mine started as a joke on a desert combat server some years ago; they kept banning the ohter names I used (Saddams chocolate starfish, target on my sphincta, etc, etc) so I came up with Oscar_Meyer to enter the server and tell the admins I thought they were weenies.
Shortly thereafter I was invited into the groups teamspeak to chat, made some friends and asked if I was interested in joining up with said gaming group. Since then myself and a couple frinds ventured away and started our own gaming thing; hellzhawtdogz <---see the relationship twixt my name and the gaming groups name.
http://www.newenglandsubarus.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=114&pictureid=833
I have used other incarnations of myself but alwys come back to what I know, Oscar_Meyer. I have lived with the oscar name for so long that I respond to itm aknowledge it and have people in my real world refer to me as OScar.
OScar is also ironocally enough the name of my fathers father: Someone I had never met.

biezer von bimmerhead
09-10-2009, 01:24 PM
This is kinda long....
In the mid-80s my Dad started calling me Beazer...and that was how we spelled it back then. Then, in 1992 I got my first car, a 1983 Bimmer 320i, and at the same time joined the BMW Car Club of America. I was instantly hooked and rapidly became a Bimmerphile...so I changed the spelling from 'Beazer' to 'Beizer', thinking it looked more German...dumbass that I am. I even had 'BEIZER' on my license plate. In 1994 or 95, I had to take a year off from college (silly GPA...), and I worked at a florist where a German woman worked...and one day she asked me (in her German accent) "Why does your license plate say TO BITE"....and said "huh" :unamused:, with a really stupid look on my face. Well, apparently beizer means 'to bite' in German...so, I promptly changed the spelling of my nickname to Biezer (just switching the E and the I)...which doesn't mean anything in German...
As for the 'von Bimmerhead' part....as a member of the BMWCCA, you get a subscription to Roundel magazine. And back in the early 90s, the Bimmer mag had a corny cartoon in it called 'Skitz von Bimmerhead', about a bumbling bimmer-loving gearhead that was always getting into trouble, and consequently the 'von Bimmerhead' got added to my 'Biezer' nickname about 15 years ago or so, and it stuck.
I'll always be a Bimmerphile at heart....but, I sure do love my STi!!!

10-01-2009, 11:33 PM
I will splain this best as I can. If you've ever watched any kind of sports car racing, World Challenge, Grand Am etc, the drivers name was put on the passenger side windshield of the car with the initial of his/her first name and his/her last name. A couple of friends of mine were just bs ing over lunch one day and the subject of weight came up, as it usually does when your grubbing. Somehow the movie Stand By Me became part of the conversation and if anyone can recall, the fat kid was called 'fatty boombalatty'. I was in the process of building my racecar at the time (91 Integra), no rice jokes please:D, and we decided that F. Boombalatti sounded like a cool Italian racecar driver name so that name ended up on my windshield and is still there till this day. I wish I could post pics of the car but I'm a noob and cannot do so yet. That's my story and I'm stikking to it:).

I was in 8th grade, woke up one morning and was like, rabidanimal... wait, no... RABYDANIMAL, yeah that's awesome!!! In retrospect it wasn't that awesome but hey, it's what I have been using for more than a decade on the tubes.

MAINIAC SPEC B
11-09-2009, 03:34 PM
It`s a name I have used on 2 other sites. The 1st site was Legacy GT which is country-worldwide and I wanted to identify myself as being from Maine "MAINIAC" and I drive a "SPEC B". If I had stayed in N.Y. I would have become a real Mainiac

My assigned login name at work. Figured I couldn't forget it. :)
I used to have a band called Axis Denied and I wanted to get it on my license plate but it wouldn't fit so I just got AXIS and it's been on every one of my cars since for a total of 5 cars now. Everyone just knows me by the license plate so I figure I'd make it easy on everyone so all of my screen names are Axis.

hmmm. how did I come up with my screen name.....
aside from obvious. I mentioned on the net 10 years ago, that I drove a subaru, when chat rooms were harmless...almost (it was actually the craziest time in computing history).
Failing to mention the year, it was instant mods comments and injection and oh my...I was still driving a 15 year old 80s carbed...and still am....
the 3 main sube is actually my last subaru, I need to find another tough if it means gas mileage handling and lack of fun. Hence my nick is an ode.

went from driving a 05 Scion tC N/A FWD FTL:unamused: to an 03 WRX T AWD FTW:D
K2= my first and last name start with "K"s and a few years ago an ex coworker started calling me that rather than "Kati" -same syllables- but she just liked it better.
I was looking for something short to type rather than: "Kati" or "KatrinaJoy" or "TrinaJoy" which is usually what I have for screennames, so I picked: "K2" it's quick enough to type, LOL

"Diztracted" -The only time I ever go on Subie forums is when I'm at work ("working") but rather than keeping focused on my job, I distract myself on NES. I've also been told I have the attention span of a "kitten on crack"
"RagDoll"- I use this on most other forums... It's been my consistent SN for most things ever since I played Sally in my 4th grade "Nightmare Before Christmas" play... I've got a Tum Burton obsession :)

TankGirl is a fairly new name for me, but it should be fairly obvious - she kicks ass!!
I got tired of using kixxster, which has a fairly long and convoluted story behind it, but it has nothing to do with the cereal [which i love!!], and I used it just about everywhere else but forums

I got mine because I am a di****ed to most people I meet online.
I also had the majority of my screen names banned on gaming servers around the world until I came up with this and then it friggin stuck..

Mine's an old gamer tag (Aexion, I probably shot you a few hundred times in DoD lol.)
I'm a mulato and when I was younger I always screwed it up and called myself a milano, like the cookie. But those cookies suck and oreo gets the point across. Plus I'm borderline crazy. Psycho? Oreo? Smash them together and don't repeat the "o"!!

haha maybe, I was off and on with the game, before valve picked it up and released it in retail stores, I already moved onto other things. I think I still have a alpha version of that mod on cd that was privately released.. When you go prone near a window you fall through the floor

lol Fuzzy Rangers was based off of Fuzzy, one of the head people working at DoD, and was really just started as joke in IRC. This was back before steam was arround, and even valve picking up mods to put thier name on it and sell it in stores.
Ultimately, half the design team for DoD was in the clan.
We had the first DoD clan match aganst the 1st dod clan that was formed before dod was even in the alpha stages. Oh the IRC days.. After I gave up the fansite, they eventualy took the #dod irc room ownership away from me :( Wasn't too happy about that.
I miss the gaming days, I got tired of FPS games.. though I am thinking of playing combat arms again. I hate working on cars.. I should of just stuck with computers and gaming, and never go outside
and yes, valve = train wreck lol
to me Fallout 3 > HL 2 & 1 even though fallout3 isn't really a true fps

2.) "I think I'm going to be sick". (Usually accompanied by a sheet white facial skin tone.)

shamankjm
04-12-2011, 07:09 PM
Well, took a sociology class back in college- its focus was tribal society and its influence on modern culture. Shared my story of a near-fatal car accident with my professor, and he told me how some tribal cultures considered any member who nearly dies a shaman; I liked that idea and started using the word as an artistic persona.
KJM are my initials.
