Finally registered on here, I got my first sub back in 07. I currently have a 08' legacy 2.5i and I love it.
Unfortunately I'm selling it to fix some finances, but am looking for another sub.
I'm looking to stay below 5k and have actually looked at so far a 97' legacy L sedan and a 2000 impreza outback sport.

Anyone got any pointers on these two, or any advice what I should look at?

It depends on what you are looking for in a car. If you are just looking for a stock DD I swear by the reliability of the 2.2L engine. If you get a high mileage 2.5L definitely ask if the head gaskets have ever been replaced. If they haven't you find yourself having to do it sooner than later if it has high mileage.

Meg both the mentioned cars are 2.2's.

The Phase 2 2.2 in the 00' OBS is WAY nicer than the old Phase 1 2.2's like in that Legacy.
