Picked it up at Pepboys for $14.99.

I was hesitant at first.... But the results speak for themselves.

Took me about 15 minutes per head light.

With one kit you could easily do 6 cars.

Does that wear off after a while? I heard it doesn't last long. I could be thinking of a different product. Idk.

I was always under the impression that the headlights needed to be recoated with either some sort of UV protectant or clearcoated once the lenses are repolished (think bare uncoated polished aluminum). So its not really the products fault for not lasting long, more like how well it gives the lens its shine back.

Ya, I'm just curious. I've heard mixed reviews on this sort of product. That's all.

After polishing headlights it will be worthless unless you put a very good sealant/wax on. Most of these kits work good but the sealant they provide is not going to protect them for a large amount of time. When I detail other peoples cars I will use a 2 step polishing process then put Menzerna Power Lock sealant on and let it sit for 1-2 hours (out of the sun obviously). Collinite wax works great to but do multiple small coats of it.

If you have the headlights off the car you can spray them with clear coat like you said and that would work well.

this^^

the sealant will need to be reapplied when it wears off.

I may try to clear coat them this spring.

Is this Menzerna (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003JT5ZA4/ref=pd_lpo_k2_dp_sr_3?pf_rd_p=486539851&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B001G6XW8O&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=0DX47JMG2M8VZKY3R23J) the same stuff you used or did you use a commercial grade version of it? Its a bit spendy but if it works well I might give it a try.

Yup thats the same one, I highly recommend it! Works great for headlights and your paint. Make sure you let it stay on the paint/headlights for a while though.

Randy applied this to his car while he was at our house and it was a HUGE difference in his head lights! I can't wait to do my car this spring! It looked like it was really easy to use too.

Soooo, regular paint clearcoat after the kit and good to go? Or special headlight clearcoat? Cuz my L needs to get this done...

So I did my Legacy GT lights over the weekend. Lost internet connection last night (thank you comcast) so I have not been able to upload the pictures. Hopefully I can do that tonight. Anyways my lights were in really bad shape. I used this kit: http://www.myheadlight.com/directions/ and the results were amazing. The lights look brand new. I even did my fog lights and got the same resilt. I highly recommend the product to anyone with headlight fogging damage.

So I stopped by pep boys to buy the rain x kit which was on sale for 10 bucks btw, but the 3m kit caught my eye and I knew that my old lights are really pitted I'd need to really sand them down. The 3m kit comes with sanding discs so needless to say I went ahead and got it. Results are amazing, now I gotta figure out if I want to clear coat, sealer, or rockblocker the lens to protect it.

Sorry no pics yet but I'll post up my results a bit later.

sealer and then rockblocker!

I'm wondering if clear rock blocker would even give enough UV protection.
