I want to do full speakers and a small sub under the seat.

I likey the sound of my boxer motor! :D No, I love a nice full sound, dont get me wrong, I just dont spend the money on it anymore. If I had the money to burn, a good sound system would be nice. I went from needing my vehicles bumping when I drove by people, to being really annoyed when people are driving around with music that loud.

1st car = Rice mods (cavalier with altezza tails and coffee can)
2nd car = decent attempt at being cool, still a POS (Hyundai Tiburon GT)
3rd car = well built monster (18g wagon 305whp/341wt)
4th car = something pratical, but luxorius, but also fun (A4)
5th car = whatever gets all the kids and the dog to grandma's in style (Jeep SRT8)

I worked at Tweeter for close to 3 years so I amassed a huge selection of home and car audio.

JL Audio Cleansweep (with custom mounted knob in coin tray)
Audison LRX1400 (running 650 x 1 @ 2 ohms, although it is 1 ohm stable at 900W:eek:)

Custom box designed for SQ
Monster wiring and 1 FD cap

I also have the rest of the system to go in if I can figure out where to put it all. My seats are folded down most of the summer for biking reasons.

Eclipse AVN7000 7" flip out LED screen with Navigation, back-up camera & DVD
Focal 130v2 5.25" front door speakers
Focal 130vslim 5.25" Rear door speakers
JL Audio 300/4 (putting 75 crossed over watts into the each door)
JL Aduio 500/1 monoblock
and a dual 10" enclusure w/ 2 JL Audio's stuffed in it..

my 4Runner is alot of the same...
Factory JBL navy unit that runs into a JL Audio clean sweep..
From there is runs into J/L Audio and Eclipse power firing up Focal drivers and a 12" woofer in the trunk. We also added readrest DVD players for the kiddies....
JL Audio 500/1 (putting 500 into the subs)
dual 10" sub enclosure w/ JL Audio 10W3V3 10" driver...


Both cars also have hidden k-40 remote radar detectors and are heavily alarmed...

Pioneer 600W amp, wire input converter tapped in on each B-pillar to feed RCA to amp.
2x12" Kicker subs in no name grey carpet box.

The stock legacy stereo/speakers sound great with the subs to fill in the missing bass. I'm happy with it.

STi system tuned... U can no longer hear the engine over the music if I so choose...:D I have way to much subwoofer for the size of the car, I think it makes the car pull timing with the vibrations...possible?

yeah. The Legacy GT has the integrated stereo/and HVAC system so unless u pay this company 700 bucks to separate the combined circuit boards you are SOL... its all good though since its a 6 cd changer that plays MP3 CDs and has the stereo controls on the wheel

get a JL audio Clean sweep or the equivelent... I guess it allows a line level signal to be generated from the head unit that can b amplified to UR spec. after the fact..

That is what I use in my 4runner as I have the factory JBL head unit with built in navigation...people laugh when they figure out I have the factory unit squeeling like a piggy..

1200watt 2chan Amp i bought in like 02-03, 5 farad cap (supposivly) recently set those subwoofers on fire in a cloud of smoke from my trunk on my way to work, looking to replace them, probably with some Alpine R types that have 500-600rms power handling

Some amps have speaker level inputs. There is also an adapter to adapt speaker level to the RCA style inputs. Commonly called a high level adapter. Most companies make one and I'm pretty sure you can pick them up anywhere audio accessories are sold (wallmart, best buy, etc.).

Should be Memphis M Class component system with patch block crossovers powered by a Kicker Zx200.4 (4 chan 200 watt amp) and two Orion 12's (32lb magnets in each DVC woofer) with a Kicker 600 watt sub amp. Using the Memphis Six box to get line out RCA's to the amps from the stock head unit

some nice setups here. now is good time to dive in..
i am noticing double din with screens way down.. could be stuck with them but when aren't we?

I dropped in a 87 subae ...a/c Delco from a 96 corsica, tape deck.. to date it is the largest capacitor rugged chock full double din ever. tape matches the year of sale, radio is actually the last tape decks.

the heatsink does get quite warm.
..and suby speakers were done within minutes.
this is for old sube, used it for free doubting the setup, no expense...experiment with actual double din. works good.

double din can be fit into any of 25 years that I know of...just snip up to align whatever bracket mounts. I used subaru for the delco. scosche harness...and it can all go back to subaru, no hack.

can move on to modern, I miss my own cds, etc etc.
touch screen would be cool. modern something.
