By popular demand.....

This weeks meet will be at Papa Gino's on Central ave in Dover NH at 6:00PM!

Hope to see you all there!

Who was demanding this? Either way, I am in. Any way we could maybe make it the Dover one for ease of people like me coming from afar?

In addition, you and everyone else here knows that it's far easier to hit the bridge south bound then it is going north bound with evening traffic.

how about a transparent vote! i am not sure if this new govt can be trusted not to stuff the ballot!

nick - i agree that the bridge is easy to go south than north at that time of day. i also understand 236 is still open which would probably be even faster to that particular dover location.

You can trust the new guberment here at SCS. Well, you can trust me...I think.

Well I seem to have bad luck with 236, one time there was an accident. Had to turn around and head up 16. Another time seemed like more traffic then 16. And still yet another time I almost got creamed by a dam 18 wheeler heading in the opposite direction, seems the driver thought his lane wasn't good enough and was going to try mine.

Either karma hates me on that road, or I just have bad luck with the number 236.

Yes, you are correct. I'm not seeing your point.

Centrally located is what people want it to be. Dover, nor Portsmouth are necessarily centrally located. It depends on who is attending the meet and where they are driving from.

At the same time, it really depends on the meet maker. Since Bu11dogg2 decided to make the meet this week it's his decision on where it is. He chose to let everyone decide from two choices for the same restaurant.

starhm
01-19-2008, 11:22 PM
i guess if i am correct...then you did in fact see my point. where makes no difference to me, just looking at the postings from people up to 45 min out... i guess one of them needs to set a meet and location and make the rest of us drive sometine... we would!

TrickyDik
01-21-2008, 09:19 AM
This is a now win situation. Dover has a bigger interior for seating but harder for parking. Portsmouth has less seating but tons of parking.

If it ends up in Dover and I hit any kind of traffic I'm just turning around.

I lived about a 2 minute walk from that place for 6 months. The only day it gets packed inside was typically a Tuesday or Saturday nights. There were some Friday nights, but not in the time frame we are going. I think we will be ok. As far as the traffic goes, I hope you can all make it!

That's all fine and well, but you're banning people on a vote of location. If it turns out they can't make it to a location based on time restraints and voted for a different location then you're just being ridiculous.

But I'll tell ya right now that I voted for Portsmouth and I'm 99% sure I won't be showing for Dover if it wins, so go ahead and ban me. It'll be tough for me, but some how I think I'll manage to sleep...

FreakBurrito
01-23-2008, 03:01 PM
That's what I'm saying.......

If you voted for Dover and thus tipped the scales in that direction and then don't show, then you shouldn't have voted. If you voted for Portsmouth and Dover won, then if you can't go you can't go.

If you don't particularly care and voted for Portsmouth and go to Dover (Like me) the you get a cookie.

If you post mitigating factors in the thread, IE Hospital, someone Dying, Then fine. If you decide you don't like us.... and don't want to go..... then BAN and DIAF.

I'm just trying to promote a little Civic responsibility here. If you vote for a specific location for a meet, only vote IF you will positively absolutely 95% show up. (The 5% is for random **** that happens)

TrickyDik
01-23-2008, 03:07 PM

I fail to see how its not worth the 15-20 minutes extra of driving to see friends and be social?

It's worth it to see friends for sure (fo sho?). Sometimes, such as in my case, the extra 20+ minutes would certainly impede on already made plans.

Now if the plans I have were to just going out in the local area then I'd be fine, unfortunately they don't. So I'd either be able to come meet up in Dover and spend 20-30 minutes hanging out with everyone or risk missing my ride to said plans. Obviously if I'm coming to a meet I would want to see all those beautiful faces for more than 20-30 minutes.

I'm not complaining, if the meets in Dover then that's fine. If my plans change or are cancelled then I'll certainly drive up there. If not, then I'll have to skip this one. Such is the life of a social butterfly like myself :D:confused:

I don't see much bickering, I see discussion. Bickering would involve name calling you stupid jerk...

I think you're confusing bickering with people trying to figure out if they'll be able to make it based on other plans and locations.

I don't find this any different then any other week for myself at least. If it's a location and time I can make it to then I plan to be there, if not then I miss it. We happened to make the same mistake we always make. We left the final location up to a poll, which never works out very well. Even I suggested the poll and I admit that it was a bad decision. The location just needs to be chosen by the first person willing to organize the meet. Then keep it that location, no choices. If people can go/want to go then they'll post and that's that.

We should add this to the rules of the forum IMO.

Jeff and I didn't go because it's too expensive.. it wasn't worth going again.. and I just spent $700 on my car getting the new tranny AND a new clutch put in.. so for the past two months have been straped for cash.

right, im all for saving cash.. can definately hear ya on that one.

just stating that we HAVE been going over the bridge.

2 or 3 asia meets now, wyw meet etc

I am pumped for papas, its good sheeit. As far as the meets go, no one should be complaining driving from dover to portsmouth or vice versa. Im sorry but it was probably an issue this week due to me asking Randy if we could have the Dover location. I drive an hour to Dover for the meets as often as I can. The extra half hour does take its toll. Especially when I drive home late that night, then get up early to head back to work the next day. My apologies but when I am in dover, I wont complain about the meet being anywhere within a half hour. hell, Ill even come back to the Lakes for meets.

The poll is closed. I don't see anyone else voting between now and tomorrow.

The choice is the Dover Papa Ginos. I would expect the 9 people who voted the Dover Papa Ginos to show up.

As for myself, I voted Portsmouth and have yet to figure out if I can make it to the Dover meet. Of course that doesn't really mean anything because anyone who voted Portsmouth now has a free pass from getting **** for not showing up.

OP edited to reflect the details.

Since nate isn't making much sense I'm going to lock this thread. Usually we keep these open for general chat but it's just you two and I have no idea what Nate is trying to say.
