so i figured there was a couple people on here that go off roading. i wanted to start a list of tips, equipment and supplies you should bring with you on your off road adventures.
always plan for the worst.

1.Equipment
Good tires are a must. all season's wont cut it. i like BFGoodrich all terrains.
some sort of lift. the more clearance the better.
chains,straps and a com along.
12v air compressor.
Axe and saw
winch
fire extinguisher
tool kit
folding shovel
tire repair kit
fixaflat
CB radio
fullsize spare tire

2.Supplies
first aid kit.
water,Gal per person
freeze dried or canned food. enough for a couple days if need be.
extra clothes.
duct tape
zip ties
mechanics wire
fuses
repair manual

3, Tips
air down your tires. 20-25 psi
go slow don't just go all out thats how stuff gets damaged.
check things out.place your tires strategically. well placed tires will reduce the risk of bottoming out.
never go alone bring another vehicle.

I'm sure there's thing's i have missed feel free to add anything and I'll add it.

Its important for everyone to know NOT to buy tow straps with hooks!

Hooks have been known to break and the stored energy in the strap turns what is left of the hook into a deadly projectile.

good stuff..

if humoring most oem subaru geometry..

there is only one tire known to man to fit in the wells as all terrian by yokohama , called geolander. some might need a 1 inch rubber lift or simple stuff.

(given the sube is an idiot lifted up)

I have seen the monsters, short lived, hardly road worthy to get to an offroad place needing this stuff.. which leads to another question...

where in heck does that level of stocking up in new england ever come into play.

I have lived smack dab in the middle of nowhere, before they locked down the abandoned railroad beds making trails in an old scout... one 3/4 day and tank of gas could be going through the woods to find I-95 or other major road eventually... ands that is in the 75 mile range of nothing but continung where skiddrs left off, and finding old geologists roads conquered by beavers.

even maine only gets bigger if stuck... other than that, not much needing advanced offroading.

would be fun to humor a setup... humorously.

Make sure to add. "never go out alone." It's one thing when you get stuck and have no one to help pull you out/through. Way new game when there is just you...

How bout a spare tire, not all tire punctures can be fixed with repair kits and fix a flat, trust me on this one!!! And yes, a winch is awesome to have, I love the one on my BRAT

Also, its recommended that you have an Australian or British accent if you go out alone, it will improve your survival rate 110% if you get stuck alone.
