Welcome to the Official GT5 Time Attack weekly Challenge!

This will be the first of MANY challenges to come!

My name is Matt and i have run these challenges for years now across many forums and people have always liked them for past games.

This week, is actually a 2 week event, since it is our first time doing it on this forum.

I will be starting the challenges off Easy and Simple and then getting harder and more challenging as the weeks progress. This will be run off the Honor System for the most part...since GT5 is harder to track and govern than Forza and some other games.

Each week's time attack will begin on Sunday and end the following Saturday at Midnight. All official lap times MUST be posted before midnight to be counted. Winning lap times will require a screenshot, along with any questionable lap times.

We will be running a points system and the points will be calculated and updated each week. At the end of the "Season" there will be a PRIZE for the winner and maybe 2nd, 3rd place finishers, depending on how many participate.

Weekly Points System: 1st (100 points), 2nd (75 points), 3rd (60 points), 4th (50 points), 5th (45 points), 6th (40 points), 7th (35 points), 8th (30 points), 9th (25 points), 10th (15 points), 11th (5 points), 12th+ (0 Points)

Anyway, on to the fun!

Track:
Tsukuba Circuit (1.27 mi) Dry
Car:
Subaru Impreza WRX Sedan '10 (Found new in dealership. Can be bought at level 6 for around $38,000)
Mods Allowed:
ONLY TIRES! Car must remain STOCK! No Mods, whatsoever!
Tires:
Sports Hard, Medium, Soft Allowed
Driving Aids:
All Allowed
Deadline:
Saturday Feb 5th by Midnight!

All laps must be done using Practice Mode in GTLife My Home screen.
If a screenshot is required or posted, try to make sure it is clear and readable and if possible, show the outside view of your car with a distinguisable part of the track showing in the screenshot.

Things will get crazier as the weeks progress. If you have any questions please post or PM me!

Target Time Bonus:
I will be participating each week in the time attack events but my times will not count or acquire points. My times will be the Target Time for each event and for each week if anyone beats or matches the Target Time they will receive a bonus 10 points for that event.

Bonus System:
There will also be weekly bonuses and additional ways to get points. Some weeks there will be challenges within the weekly challenge to score additional points.
There will be more specifics on this each week and will add some spice to each weeks challenge.

Ahhhhhhh, I'm not too sure about that then either. That would make things easier but till then I'll keep the ole Sony Cell to use :)

during replays there is a photo mode but I don't think you can capture time stamps with it.

Just take screenshot with camera or phone. The 1 minute flat time is really fast for a stock 2010 sti with only sport tires. Nice

Yeah, this I noticed too Matt...

If you already have this car and it's modded there are mods thet you can not remove as they are permanent and made my car alot quicker around the track. I had to buy an entire new car and tires only and start from scratch.

Nope! That was bone stock, aside for the obvious adjustment, (brake bias) When I went to take pics, I realized I did it on sport hard tires, instead of sport soft. :palm:

Yup the white one is the new one. The wheel is awesome, I can't imagine how amazing a G25/G27 is. I destroyed my old go-kart times with the wheel. :D

I did 5 laps lastnight with everything turned on and got 1:02.5

I'm def going to play around a bit with those settings and see if I can improve some

Ya I'll give it some more laps today/tonight and play around with those and see how things go. Over 2 seconds behind though it alot to try to make up but I'll give it a shot.

You can adjust the center diff on a stock car? :confused: I never even thought to look.

I had ABS at 1, everything else off, manual of course.

I'm in SM, cause of my rear diff bushings, if not I would be in BSP. I know an 08 STi is B stock, I thought WRXs were DS?

I was running in STX when I first started out to the point where my engine decided to give me the middle finger
CART dosn't have alot of cars competing in any Street Tireclass so they compiled them all together to make STA Street Tire All

time should show on your list of times, if it was done in practice mode. you can screenshot that, along with your settings page that shows weight, hp and pic of car.

a 59.540 is insanely fast for a bone stock sti with R-Compounds (sport softs) :eek: even with a steering wheel...

Guys, use this long event as an advantage to SAVE UP SOME MONEY! You will need money for the upcomming events to build cars. Maybe not for the next event so much...but def for weeks 3 and on

Here is mine. I tried a few different combos and this is the best I could do. Some laps I was faster the first half only to screw up the last half, or visa versa.

That's kinda funny I stopped playing GTA IV online forever ago. I got through 70% of the game and stopped playng but now I started it back up again. I'm back to 20% again and forgot just how fun that game is.

You can probably use whatever assists you would like. I would keep damage off just in case I push it too hard. If you go back into the practice area and click on the track, it will show the 10 best laps or so.

I planned on playing some more to try to beat my time but that didn't happen with alot of things going on. So here's my time with a regular controller that I got the 1st day of the trying this event. It wasn't a perfect run (but darn close) but I think with a controller instead of a steering wheel I could of got maybe another .2 or .3 seconds with a act of god but this is going to have to do for this event. So here's my best for this event 1:00.521

Definitely doable man, I had a couple laps tonight that my ghost was way behind then either I push too hard and mess up, or I take it too easy and he catches up. I could definitely get another half second or more off of mine, but my concentration is shot lol.
