Well sorry i havent been on to post but ive been building my log cabin. We have all the walls milled and ready. The slab is also done. We start building in a few days i believe. I cant wait for it to be done so i can attend meets!!

I will def post progress pics! The land is in royalton :) it has always been a dream to have a log cabin and its coming true. I cant wait. Were doing all the work ourselves so its awesome! We didnt do a basement because the cost of that we could put up a 2 car garage instead :) so that what were doing... The wrx needs a place to sleep too ;) haha

Meets there would be cool :) were right at the end of the road. And i could maybe create a space to park cars :) ill do it i i have space at the end of the build ^_^ . By the time said and done it will be about a 6 month project. I would say we are a month and a half in.

Not a full wrap around porch. Just a porch off the side and upstairs in the back. Log cabins insulate themselves. You put a small piece of insulate between each log. Thats it :)

Hell yeah it is! We still have alot of work ahead of us. We started moving all the logs from the mill to the house but we cant move them while its snowing like this because the log get to slick and are unsafe to carry.

Yes here is an update :) we are still in need of some logs so we are going to cut tomorrow. We will be moving steadily soon! We got to the top of the windows and doors thats where it sits now

nice log cabins are badass. did you peel the logs yourself or buy them? my cousin built a log cabin and it took like a year but he cut the trees debarked the logs all himself wicked nice.

We do everything ourselves :) peeling is exhausting after doing it all day everyday. At the end of the day your tired lol... Or atleast i was.

Thanks all :) there actually will be a log garage as well with a lift but it wont be attached because of the wrap around porch :) but it will be a 2 or 3 car garage with open floor plan upstairs for a later installed apartment :)... Waiting for bethel mills to delive some supplies so we can get working!!! Were gunna cap the top floor and start down stairs

Haha ceiling remains that way! Except over the living room. It is going to be a open ceiling with a loft and two bed rooms and a bathroom up stairs. I dont remember the sq footage but as it sits it is a 28 x 32. :) ill get back about the sq footage

Yet another update! We put up the walls on the inside! Well the frames haha.
The last photo is of the kitchen area. The other two rooms in the back are the master bedroom on the left and guest bedroom on the right. All the photos were taken in the livin room. I dnt have any photos of that because it would be hard to capture that room in a photo on my phone with the walls up

Thanks man, it was a tough winter. Out peeling logs in 12 degree mornings wasnt fun but hey at the same time it was. Stair case: noted. Milling the logs and cutting them so they dry out some soon. Stairs will also be made from logs :) with a railing made from a twisted tree ;). No more telling secrets hehehe. This project has been a blast and i look forward to finishing it and moving in! Luckily i get to do more after this one ^_^

It is fun. And your guess is closeish. Only being as i know people who build. Ive been around construction sites my whole life. I used to paint multi million dollar homes for a living. Multi million i know sounds great but it is only good for the people living in it and not so much for the ones who work on them!!! Lol. But im good at what i do and i enjoy it. This is my first build ive been involved in as a matter of fact and have taken a bit of a passion for it. I will continue working for someone after my house is done and i plan on putting up more in the future to sell. :) ill look into making that photo album!

-The roof is 99.5% done.
-Both dormers are open.
-Tub and shower installed in bathrooms.
-electrical almost done.
-rough plumbing.
-Stained glass window in.
-shotguns and wolf head all chainsaw carved
-just picked up everything to install from home depot.

Drywall and plaster start tomorrow.
Exterior is 100% done.
Rough plumbing done and electrical 90% done (waiting for drywall/plaster/paint)
Interior 80% done.
Also need to build chimney/wood stove area.

Yeah it is a wicked old tree. It has to be like 5 feet thick its HUGE!! here is a photo of the property above us. I would really love to buy this land a build a house on out but the road up is a class 4. Spectacular view though!

Drywall started yesterday. The electrician had to come in so the drywall went on hold and got started again at 7 a.m. Plaster starts in the next day or two. Then comes my specialty, PAINT ^^. i used to paint what i consider mansions and what rich people call summer homes. :unammused: its been a long winter sleeping on my cousins floor so i really am excited for this to get done :)
