given the jail the guy is in...some may not believe how simple the case may be. (I have gone there based on lies, to get an apology later)

its quite possible for someone to have written a fraudulent note and signed it as the big fella in the pic. but if it were hand-written a quick writing sample would easily uncover the truth. also just interrogation and getting him to talk will reveal his grammatical prowess and can help determine if he's up to the task mentally of writing in the manner the letter/note was written.
