um what kind of exhuast are you looking for stealthy or balls out loud? catback or turboback? If you go with a turboback you might want to think about a catless up pipe. I have had around 9 diffrent setups so far between my 04 wrx and 06 sti. on the install its real easy diy.

a turbo back is better but you can do it in stages. it all depends on how much money you want to put into your car.
the best catback had so far was cobb catback. also if you go with a turbo back you have to think about going catted or catless.

If you do a turboback, you're going to want some engine management. I'd recomend getting on Nasioc and checking out Unabombers Manifesto. it's good stuff.

If you want a cheap cat-back that has good performance then you can go with this one:

http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?from=R40&_trksid=m37&satitle=SR*S+Catback+Exhaust&category0=

Plenty of ClubWRXers are happy with it:

http://www.clubwrx.net/forums/showthread.php?t=168698

Sure it's a no name but who cares unless you're a car show person. To me, it's a hunk of medal that nobody can see any way. As long as the performance is on par that's all that really matters.

I'm actually going to order one soon, then do a downpipe and some engine management.

The Cobb Catback is still my favorite. THE best sound.

the cobb was a great exhuast on my sti.
It was low key and sounded great. I bought mine off peter at pltek I think for 640.

My vote is prodrive. It's perfect. All you here is the rumble of the enigine. It's quite enough that cops won't look twice, but loud enough when you get on it so you can hear it. And best of all, it's not annoying when your taking long highway drives.

Why don't we have a meet some time so you can hear everyones exhaust and choose for your self?

prodrive is in my room waiting to go on.
I think proxy seen my sti when it had the cobb catback shooting flames on rt1.

I would go with the ebay erz greddy spec2 knockoff. Like a few people have said its just a pipe. I have a tenabe super medallion hyper, Its quiet but rumbly. The only reason why i bought it was it was only $200 used of course.

Yea, I mean I don't seem much differences in the actual performance from pipe to pipe. What I do notice is sound difference. So really if you're not a name brand whore then go with what sounds good. I like the sound of that ebay exhaust and it performs well and the price is dam good for what you get.

Brian: You don't need no engine management for catback. You only need that if you add downpipe to the mixture.

Vlad are you on drugs? Turboback exhausts, as Brain mentioned, inlcude the Downpipe and need engine management.

Just because I haven't done it doesn't mean I don't know what I'm talking about ;-P

It's ok, I understand, Everyone is talking about Catbacks and I throw in the almost non sensical turboback.
