Brian,
What are you lowered on and how much is the drop all around???
brian
02-28-2011, 07:38 AM
idk how much its dropped. last year after the bodykit install i decided to raise it back up after scrapeing my front bumper on everything. Little lower than stock maybe.
I'm on tien type flex coilovers with tien strut bars, perrin sways, endlinks. From the looks of it I might drop the front another 1/2 inch

Yeah I'm not a fan of rolling and pulling the fenders myself. I'm lowered on Tanabe GF210 springs which are the least aggressive of their springs. 1.0F/0.5R,Pretty much like the Prokit with a more aggressive spring rate(stiffer). I was actually looking to do the same specs that you just installed but was worried about rubbing and didn't want to get into have to start pulling and rolling fenders....

Nope I was talking to Sean almost a year ago for a more aggressive offset even when I picked up te 522's but for the price Gene gave I couldn't say no..... I could make back all my money If I wanted to sell them :)
Yeah they will be going on the wife's car as she wants a subaru for her next car. I'll be going with the same wheel or grids in 18's color to be determined....
Taken from another forum: Nice... I'm going to be.running the same size on my forester with 522's how is the clearance on the struts?

Really??? Do I own a Forester?? How am I suppose to know what works or doesn't work on your car?? The wrx and the Forester are 2 seperate cars and do not share everything in common. Gene would be your best bet for fitment as that is what he does for a living not me.... I would think you would have a better clue on what might or might not work on your car, than I. I've given you plenty advice and help on what you should or could do in regards to performance parts on your car since you owned the Forester so don't play that card.... Finally got anything else to add PM me and keep it out of Brians thread this isn't other sites where every thread turns into a **** show....

looks awesome.
for those thnking it is extreme, it really is not.
a 205/60/15 is closer than you might think...
for every half inch gained on rim width, actual section width only changes 2/10ths.. hence it looks awesome. sqaures up low sidewalls, very aggressive..and expensive to do.
this means from a 6 inch rim to 9.5
3.5 inches ...
actual appearance in life is like a 7, an inch over the 6..
in this situation a 8.3 section width to a hard 9.3...
it is tricky.
the big numbers are just that.

I'm running 175's on a 8 inch wheel now.. I consider that a mild stretch . I would run 205's on a 9.5 if I was only going for looks but I don't want to go smaller then 225 unless I have to to make them fit right. It's my DD.... not a track car.

no I'm saying I don't need 315's because its my daily and I'm ok with sacrificing a little bit of handling quality for the look I want.

Yes, but that particular size is only a .46% change in overall rolling diameter, thus would fit perfectly assuming you can fit a 255 under a Forester.

Well obviously if I were driving a Forester, I'd check and measure before putting any wheels/tire combo on the car, as I would for any other vehicle.
I'd also stay within the tire manufacturers guidelines when selecting a tire size.

Mounted mine my self with my brothers old ass tire machine , mounted like a normal tire no issue at all but like i said mine arnt really stretched .
With a extreme stretch the proper way is with a special attachment on a air tank. I believe its called something like a cheeta. The other/ wrong way is with combustion.

All tires are different shawn. Some "look" more or less stretched than others.
A 175 on an 8 inch rim is pretty stretched. Proper tire size for that rim is a 215-235.
Just because some Homos slap 205 on 10 inch rims, doesn't make it safe or in any way less gay.
We know its not a track car. But a 225 on a 9.5 inch rim is hella stretched and unsafe. If you never exceed 40 mph and its a show car...fine. but as a DD...you literally put yourself, your girl and your kid at harms way.
There's a company that put a car on their dyno with stretched tires on wide low offset wheels and they dynod it. Then all they did was take the wheels off and slap on proper fitting wheels and tires that were still flush but not hella stanced vw flush.
They gained 11whp!!! On a 300whp car. No bull****.
So its unsafe, robs power, robs handling and looks gay...but you get more concave wheels...without fender work...
Honestly...run a 255 on a 9.5 if you want mild stretch. Just do some fender roll and pull.
When I had a 255 on my white 9.5 volk re30...they were slightly stretched.
But I mean slightly....not a 175 on an 8 inch rim. I've seen the rabbit and photographed the rabbit and its more than a mild stretch....its def moderate.
Do what you what...I'm just thinking safety and not making your subaru look like a vw.
Plus...your rabbit isn't 300whp or weigh 3200lbs...keep that in mind shawn.
But don't cry if you rip a tire off or blow one out when tearing around with your 20psi of boost.
We are just trying to help.
