I am not sure where to post this so i will put it here. My back hatch has been working fine with no problem until i closed it after putting trash in the trunk to go to the dump. When i went to open it it would not open. It feels like it is locked but i have tried unlocking it and that does nothing. There does not appear to be anything stuck in the latch. I dont have any way to try a key to unlock it....only the electric way. anyone have any ideas?

did you blow a fuse or anything that would make it not work? other then that you might have to get the panel off somehow to see what happened to it.
I know when I swapped trunks my latch fell out of the clip and the trunk wouldn't open till I took the seat out and used the emergencty release. damn shaved trunks.
good luck with it

when you hit the button does it click?
no noise = blown fuse or bad harness
Click and no action = jammed locking mechanism
PM me if you can't figure it out and I'll meet up with you to take a look.

It does make a noise and feels like it is doing something when you try to unlock it. It just doesnt unlock and open. I will give it another try tomorrow and if that doesnt work I will take you up on your offer to meet me and try to get it open. thanks for all your guys help.

Did you close that hatch against any of the garbage bags?

No...nothing was closed in it. I did end up getting it open this morning by locking it, pushing the handle all the way to the open position and then trying to unlock it. After the second or third time it worked. I think it just needs to be greased good. Nothing looks wrong with it. Thanks for all your help and thanks for the offer bu11dogg2.
