View Full Version : FMIC install

I just installed this new FMIC on monday and figured I would post some pics of the install. It took about 5 hours between taking some extra trips to home depot for those unexpected tools and small hardware I didn't have. I bought this from SSAC for $300 shipped and I'm very impressed with the fit and finish. It bolted right up with no snags, just a few parts that weren't included like a 2.5 in to 2.75 inch silicone adapter and a BPV adapter to use the stock BPV. It also took some trimming on the bumper and the fog light bezels, but nothing you cant do yourself with a dremel tool. The impact on the performance after the install surprised me. It pulls significantly harder all the way to red line and turbo lag is about the same as it was with a large top mount. I reach full boost (18psi) at 3000 rpm and the power hits at 3500 and dosen't stop. I'm going to get it retuned in a few weeks at TDC for torco, so I'll see how it does compared to the last tune, Small 16g with a large ebay TMIC

that looks nice painted black:D I didn't realize you keep your fogz with the ssac kit, I'm going to have to look @ that kit again. Did the bumper beam come with the kit or is that something extra?

The fog light housing needed to be trimmed a bit, but nothing major.

do you have to mount the front plate or just have it? saves getting pulled over though...

Thanks. yeah we have to have a front plate in NH. I'm still trying to find a better place to mount the plate.
