I go back to 3.1 on a 486, did not keep it long.. got it for the thick SECC case they came in, back when they were 4000 dollars.

my first was over $2k, came with windows 98...from their on out has been quite a rush.

seeing the load screens, remembering the wait...very enthused, as I was a pioneer customer, december 1998.

would not trade it for much, the frustrating past with it. makes it more human to remember by. :lol:

Though I'll be honest in those days, my dad stuck with dos and we finaly installed 3.1 when it was needed for something

Seemed pretty successful to me.

I'd like to see a Mac get upgraded with 20 years worth of software. I say that knowing it's 100% impossible.

I vaguely remember 3.1. I remember Windows 95 quite vividly. Ah, the 10GB hard drive split into 4 partitions because the file system could only handle ~3 GBs per drive.

Windows has more than it's fair share of problems, but it lets me do whatever the hell I want. I'll take that over some fancy shiny buttons, dumbed down interfaces and inflated pricetags.
