Is it possible for a brake pad to fall off after install. 93 explorer, somehow the outside pad fell off. WTF?!?!?!?!

I've heard of a pad seizing to the rotor and getting flung off, never heard of it falling off.

So I did my buddies brakes last weekend, he was having trouble so I had him come over so I could check them out. The pad was missing!!! WTF man. Idk. Put an old pad on and it's going good now. Weird situation

i have seen that at the shop i work at i watch my bos do it and not even a weekl later the pad was good its messed up

I had a 95 saturn that did the same thing.

If the bonded lining comes apart yes it is possible. Seen it many times, usually on old rusty pads though.
