finally, a new internet explorer.
this forum is liking it, much faster.
my old pc needs to rely on more gpu... it is doing what they claimed so far.
a good explorer determines internet traffic.

Havent installed it yet. Front desk computer was running the beta in my office, it made my head hurt a little
Though I think microsoft did the right thing and only released it for win vista or higher.
I find it pathetic a bunch of xp users are *****ing that they arn't getting IE9
its a browser.. it reads html code.. it gives you a pretty image of words and tables and ****.. IE8 does the same thing

Might have to upgrade the laptop when I get home.
I did a virtual install and have to admit I like FireFox 4 better.

html 5 allows more gpu. 8 does not do as much.
even if you got ten cores of insane resources...
this had to happen. this could be the biggest common sense upgrade ever.
they have claimed the gpu stuff before, but it is not as noticable as now.
they can do more, will wait it out for the next one.
as for other browsers , assuming it is speed one is after... they are not going down as low into details.. I have avoided them since netscape 1 and whatever year that was. 98? 99? 2000?
I even humored a very long compile of firefox, for my own machine.. not impressed enough to do it again.
if windows can't get windows ight..what exactly is the other browsers doing in windows?

They are bypassing the IE architecture that sucks in the first place. Microsoft will always have gaping holes as sure as you will need a 2x4 strapped to your butt (to prevent falling in) when you use the bar to pick up chicks, other browsers allow less access to core components windows uses.
HTML 5 is good but it is still not finished, no one can agree on video/audio codecs and multitracking implementation.
After the HTML lifecycle is finished is when you will see a big change in web browsers and what websites can do.

this is as old as i-explore. they keep everyone hanging.
I see ie6 is still downloadable. I just went back to 8 for the search.. I do not like search in the address bar.
this lightweight stuff is for people that don't do much.
when graphic catches up, all the browsers get it, light or not. ie9 seems to have done nothing but make a numb version, "light and airy"
I still got to have menu bars, giant tabs, bloated fat and heavy.
