I'm in for answers. I'll be doing mine eventually. Talked to a guy last weekend with a 20g 2010 wrx that is using an ACT stage 1 clutch, I think it was.

Yes, but a STI clutch setup has more surface area to grip with than your WRX stock setup.
Depending on future plans for the OP, then an OEM replacement should be fine. Torque and the person behind the wheel kill clutches.

Right, I have lots of torque, and like to use it. :D

You also have much more torque than a stage II GD STi.

For a stage II STI stock clutch will be plenty. They are good for holding up to 400 flb tq.

competition clutch stg 2 full face, or the stg 3 6 puck if you want more holding capacity.

Stock is soooo nice to drive with.
The ACTs are loud (sometimes enough that passengers will ask you what's wrong with your car) and use a lot of leg strength which is fun at first but it wears on you in traffic.
That being said, I have an ACT Heavy Duty Clutch Kit with Light Weight ACT Cro-Moly Flywheel. I speak from experience

ACT Street.
its what I have in my spec.b with 288hp 322tq.
I work/drive in the NYC/metro area so I have plenty of experience driving it in traffic. it is a bit stiffer on the pedal than stock but nothing major

believeable.
try a cool down...
the sube clutches are freakin huge as oem, racer or whatever one does with it.
I would even take the hillbilly advice and heat treat one, humor a disc, and nothing more, if to go as far as replacing.
I find they even have to wait for concentric of a fresh engine change..
they do not just slip. it is telling you something.
a small clutch would dig in sooner.
go by miles and other obvious routines of wear.. if it is young, something else is happening, and it won't be the clutch soon enough.

Trying to prepair for the future myself....
Looking for something to hold 400whp/400TQ just to be on the safe side.
Thinking a 6 puck sprung but still in the researching phase of things.

act street with a lighted fly wheel on the fozzie. love it, and i beat the piss out of it.
my 86 300zx has the same clutch and i loved it, burn outs and drifts every where and it always grab nice and tight... but the z probaly had 100flbs of torque :dunno:

wana bleed my clutch some more? :unamused:
also to the op, if your clutch fluid is the shade of brown, like a backed up toilet. Change the fluid

I'll take Nasioc responses for 1000
To the OP:
I would recommend at least an ACT street clutch. I had one in my 240sx that I used for drift and AutoX events, and it held up pretty well.
