How old are you and what do you have experience in? That may help.

Getting the job wasn't the bad news I said. My dad not letting me drive my car is the bad news. Im only 17 I'll be 18 in june so im just looking for a little job to have a little extra cash and so my dad will let me drive my car.
Is that better with the periods and such. lol

McDonalds is always hiring... you are not exactly going to find your dream job at 17 or 18...

I worked there when I was 16/17 :) I made $7.25 an hour when minimum wage was $4.25
Of course this was 1996  and $7.25 is = to 10.25 nowadays.
OP,
have you ever hada job before? I'm sure there are plenty of us onhere with connections... we just need to know what you want to do.
My recomendation is landscaping.
you'll make $10 an hour, be outside all summer, get to work on your tan and get in shape at the same time.
Not a bad gig for HS student

I second the idea of getting a job landscaping or something like that. I have worked for a builder the last bunch of years and it is great. You get tan, learn something useful, do something different all the time, and you can make close to $13 a hour depending on who you get to hire you.

Even as a laborer you can make $10.
My buddy does that. He gets called and goes to jobs, works all day and makes $$$$.
The best part is he works maybe... 3-4 days a week.

Your 17 and dont have a full time job? I would be out of the house when I was 17 if I didnt. And there is no way I would have a bugeye waiting for me. I can get you restaurant work....good pay for your age but lots of work!

If all I needed to do at the age of 17 was get a job in order to drive a wrx, I'd be on that **** in a second. But then again I've been working since age 13. Consider yourself lucky and get a freakin' job so you can drive the car man.

I would not let you drive the car unless you actually paid me. So not only would you need the job. You would need a good job to pay the rental fee.
Maybe you are a responsible 17 year old. I know I was responsible with my WRX for the first few years I owned it. I was 18 or 19 then.

both ways...up hill, in the snow...
worked at an orchard at age 13...first job of many...PAID for my first mustang at 16...got pissed at dad who couldnt take said car b/c i paid for it and he threatened to take away my insurance...say good by to his multi car discount. ins on a mustang at 17 was worse than paying for the car...but i never looked back. get the job, pay for your own stuff...thats good advice. i wouldnt walk both ways uphill in the snow though...and i never did food industry. grocery stores and farm work were the choices for me after the orchard. have fun and welcome to the grind!!

Frickin' spoiled suburban kids! :banghead:
My first car was a '78 Olds Cutlass with 118K miles that I bought with my own money in 1984 at age 18.
I have twin boys who are 11, they will be lucky if they get to drive my Outback in 6 years!
go to home depot, they are almost always looking for people. See if any car dealerships are hiring for lot boys. walmart too.

First car was a POS Corsica, Dad helped me buy it, I paid for everything after that, and when I left for Oregon he inherited it. (It was his name on the title) Secind car was an Accent. Mom paid for half and co-signed the loan for me. I paid for everything else in the car after that and when it **** the bed, I sold it to my dad, and he got it fixed. The WRX was completely financed by me.
Sorry man, but 404: sympathy, not found. I didn't even have the hope of getting a car untill I had gotten my first job.
