Cartellis in Dover:
Excellent sushi, voted best in the tricity
Green Monkey in Portsmouth:
One of the best first date restaurants in the area. Great menu including vegan and vegetarian meals.

The Rosa in Portsmouth, I used to go there as a kid and just went back last week and it was awesome I forgot all about it. Nice atmosphere like a hotel or old house or something. Very good service and excellent food. They also have good beer selection.

The Pepperland Cafe in South Berwick:
is excellent :). I love the small town atmosphere. Menu varies and the drinks are excellent
The Library in Portsmouth:
Food in phenomenal, but VERY pricey.
Service is excellent and the atmosphere is uncluttered and quiet.
Pesce blu In Portsmouth
mmmmm mmmmm mmm Really good Italian with a new age dining atmosphere.
(a bit expensive)
The Stock Pot in Portsmouth:
Really, really good food. If you go there for lunch make sure you sit on the deck. It has one of the best views of the harbor :)
Shalimar in Portsmouth:
If you have never had traditional Indian before I would recommend going with a someone who has. The food is excellent but ordering is difficult and some of the food is spicey.
I wouldn't plan on going out for drinks after though... your clothes will reek of curry.
Blue Latitudes in Dover:
You cannot beat their lunch specials.
Dinner there is great! They really set a romantic mood with dimmed lighting and candles.
Cafe on the Corner in Dover:
Great for lunch!! I love their Cesaer salad wrap :)

+1 for Pesce Bleu. Went there a few years ago a few times. My buddy used to be a chef there. Excellent time dining and great food.
Havent been to the Pepperland Cafe yet, but I am sure I will before Jamie moves outta that town.
Stockpot is very good too. Know a few people that work there. Jamie and I have dined on the deck a few times last
summer.

I went to Siam Orchid last night....
It was decent. I'm not a huge fan of Thai with the exception of Pad thai..
I had the Beef Macadamia with white rice.
It seemed a bit under seasoned, but was good.
My date had the Tofu Pad Thai which also seemed a bit underseasoned.
Thai Cuisine Restaurant in Dover:
Some of the best pad thai I have ever had :) THey mix shrimp, chicken andn beef. for $11 you get heaping 2 pound plate of noodle goodness.

If I get Pad Thai and The House Fried Rice there, I have eaisly enough food for 3-4 meals. It's also very tasty and they can make it SUPER spicy.
Damn it, I've got a craving right now.

I ate at the "Rosa's" in Portsmouth last Saturday. (Italian)
It was pretty good. I only had an appetizer but it was a meal size one :)
Service was decent and the atmosphere was quiet and comfortable.
The prices are reasonable and the restaurant is a great alternative to Olive Garden.
Valet parking is a plus :) You only have to tip :)

the hibachi grill in portsmouth is a good time, its more of a group atmosphere then bring a date though.
they got that benihana's fancy cook style with chefs who throw knives, eggs, and food around in an interesting way.
they'll even throw food all around the table for you to try and catch it in your mouth.
food is decent too. would be a good place for a suby meet.

Ok... It's been a while since I Updated this....
Went to the Blue Mermaid in Portsmouth for dinner
http://www.bluemermaid.com/
I have to say that I was pleasantly suprised by the qaulity, qauntity and flavor of the food.
I had the Spinach with candied pecans, red onions, goat cheese and dried cranberries tossed in chipotle vinaigrette.
For an app I had Sweet potatoe fries with a tomato-ancho chili pepper dipping sauce.
The cost was reasonable and the atmosphere was great :)
If you like Sushi, I recommend Taipai Tokyo in Portsmouth (woodbury ave).
They get their fish deliveries on Mondays so that is by far the best day to get sushi. I prefer maki, and they roll them extratight so there is no breakage during handling.

Ok so far I have taken dates too:
Hibachi in Portsmouth (loved it.. fantastic)
Blue Lattitudes in Dover (great food)
The Barn Tavern in Dover (one of my faves) The scallops wrapped in Bacon w/ a light honey sauce... mhmmmmm
Christophers (Also very good)
This is of course besides the chain restaurants..
I like finding/going to these local gems..
Plus the ladies do appreciate the extra effort.
It certainly is great getting the "omg I didnt even know that was here, and it was sooooo good."

Breakfast:
The Golden Egg, Portsmouth - though no matter when you go you'll be waiting in line to eat.
Dinner:
Three Chimney's Inn, Durham - excellent food, somewhat expensive but the food and atmosphere is awesome, not what you'd expect out of Durham.
The Governors Inn, Rochester - Also great food.
Slims!, Rochester - Awesome Tex-Mex, they have a bar upstairs but never gone. They make good margarita's if you know what to ask for. -- they cary quite a few guality and top shelf tequila's: 1800 Anejo, Tres Generaciones, Patron, Don Julio, etc.

If anyone ever comes up to the Mt. Washington Valley area near North Conway and you want to eat incredibly good food, you have to go to the Thompson House Eatery in Jackson. You'll leave very satisfied. It's not cheap but it's worth it.

La Carretta in Manch is my favorite mexican food in NH. Chori Pollo FTW!!!
Pizza: Alley Cat in Manch is the best in the state (NY style 20" pies)...and is the best I have ever had (and I am from the NY/NJ area if that says anything) Charlie Macs in Warner is also excellent of the same style pizza.
Italian: Piccolas in Manch is pretty good, doesn't hold a candle to the mobbed-up joints in Jersey (Trenton/Chambersburg/Newark/the entire northern half of the state/or Boston), but still very tasty.
Siam Orchid in Concord is very good and authentic Thai.
And finally....McDonalds in Hillsboro....just kidding...

MiddleG and I went to a new restaurant in Portsmouth called Cava.
http://www.cavatapasandwinebar.com/
They specialize in Tapas and I do mean specialize :)
The owner, Greg Sessler drives a Subaru and has his service done at Exeter Subaru, how I met him.
We started with a bottle of Rioja Red and the dark chocolate seasalt and pistachio oil slices mmmmmmmmm
for an app we had the salad with 50 year aged vinnagrette :)
for dinner we ordered the Mezze: Hummus, Marinated Feta, Tabbouleh, Baba Ghanoujh, Olives, Pita and rounded out with the Grilled Beef Sirloin, Brussel Sprouts, Chestnuts, White Truffle Oil.
The food was without a doubt some of the best we have on the seacoast :)
The dining area is beautiful, and at 6pm we were able to get a seat by the window.
Service was EXCELLENT and non-intrusive. We didn't have to wait long for the food and the server/waiter was top notch.
All the food is prepared in an open area and fills the dining room with great smells :)
I didn't get a chance to see the downstairs wine bar, but from the pics it looks beautiful.
In total, with a generous tip we paid $130. $52 of which came from the bottle of wine :hide:
If you're looking a break from the norm def check this place out :)

Bringing this back from the dead....
Rockys Famous Burgers in Newmarket - awesome, awesome, awesome. The burgers are all handformed and HUGE, fries are hand cut and extremely tasty and prices are very reasonable. The owners are dog lovers and a portion of their profits go to the NHSPCA.
I recommend the El Diablo if you like spicey food or the California burger.... mmm, fries on a hamburger....
The place is small otherwise I'd be getting a meet going there.
GO THERE.

Ginza Japanese Steakhouse - Hibachi and the number one rated Sushi in CT 3 years in a row,
this place is FANFREAKINGTASTIC, my main gripe with food is that it is cold or luke warm by the time it makes it to my mouth, but not so at Ginza. the food is spectacular the chef's squirt alcohol into your mouth from 2 feet away, and they cook the food RIGHT in front of you so you know they cant spit in it!!! down side is you have to go as a group to get those tables, upside is you have to go as a group to get those tables!

There was mention of Pizza in this thread, but no Espresso's in Nashua. :unamused:
They've been there 60 years, without a doubt the best NY style Pizza in NH.
Good date places in Nashua:
Michael Timothy's - Great atmosphere, good Jazz on the weekends, kinda pricey if you are getting big entrees. Well worth it though, Chef/Owner also owns Surf 'n turf in Nashua and Buckley's steakhouse in Merrimack, (also both fantastic).
Country Tavern - A very nice quaint restaurant that is Haunted and has been on Unsolved Mysteries. Great French cuisine! Get the Escargot for the appetizer.

Same people who brought us the Muddy River Smoke House :)

It's not your traditional diner food.... no sir not at all.
It has the 50's genre but no over the top loud music or crazy employees.
I def recommend it to anyone looking for good food at a cheap price.
