On June 7th and 8th, the New England Subaru Club, Inc is holding an Auto-x training and practice track weekend at St. Lawrence Motorsports Park in Morristown, NY. SLMP is an oversized go-kart track with enough room for cars (http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1479282#) to run. Over the two days you will get dozens of sessions on the track to refine existing skills and develop new ones. Instructors (and cones) will be available to help set special courses and drills to assist in the improvement of your driving skills.

-The cost for the entire both Saturday and Sunday is $145, which includes driving time on the track and optional instruction. Payment for the weekend is due up front IN FULL to secure a spot and is considered NON-refundable unless the event gets canceled for any reason. Send a paypal payment to payments@newenglandsubaruclub.com.
-We will be limiting the group to 25 drivers so sign up fast.
-The event is contingent on getting at least 13 drivers.

Track layout:

If you're curious how well cars fit on the go-kart track, you can find videos here (http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=slmp) from other groups that have gone in the past.

Safety/Tech Restrictions:
-All cars will be subject to a tech inspection.
-Remove all extra 'stuff' from your car (http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1479282#) that is not bolted in.
-Must have working seat belts
-Drivers and passengers must wear helmets.
-Tires must be DOT approved, with a treadwear over 80 for cars over 2500lbs.
-Brakes should be bled prior to event and should have at least 3/4 pad left.

Where to stay:
We'll be picking a location near the track and making room reservations depending on demand and how many people we can fit in a room. Drivers and guests have the option to stay with the group or to make separate plans.

Ya, I am not going to be able to make this one, which is unfortunate. But, I am going to go up there with sccv this year at some point and try my luck at racing it. A guy that was at the last sccnh autox told me about it and said its fun as hell.

I made up my mind to go yesterday when I was at the dent sport garage dyno day. I have to go hms motorsports for a helmet fitting and to check out a sparco seat.

I am going to give this one some serious thought but the trip distance is signifigant. Like 500 miles from here.

I see wizzman has signed up. Did you get any details on lodging and hotel room prices...?

I was talking to ted when I rode shotgun with him to dsg dynoday. I guess its 140ish and you can split the room with someone. I just picked up reo70's with 50% tread for 80 bucks for the event.
2 days of unlimited track time is nuts. do it.

Trust me if it were @ nhis i would be there. Or even an hour or two away, but 6 hours is pushing it alot.

I would love to go, but i kinda wanna keep my tires in good condition for this last season.

It's not unlimited track time. From what I understand, the first day is "unlimited" but only one car is on the track at a time. Then the second day is one car at a time, and you do 5 or 10 lap runs, then switch and wait till your next run.

ya me too lol I was talking to ted(nhsilversti) about when we went down to dsg. redrum was talking about it there also. after hearing about it in person I was hooked on going.

I have to go to hms motorsports to pick up some motul trans fluid and get fiited for a helmet.

There are more than two cars on a track for the first day, they break down the course into 23 sections, turns 1-5 and 7-11 i think, and you practise those sections 1 car at a time, then they switch. After that they start going into the whole track slowly...and then let you go balls out. It does beat the **** outa your FL tire, along with brakes.

I hope my pads will last but ted has spares in case they don't
