View Full Version : boost question
Hey all, I have a quick question. I noticed today that I'm not hitting my max psi at all, could this be due to the mugginess in the air? I was hitting 20 psi the other day with no problems but today it seems the most I can get is 18 psi at best. Any and all answers are appreciated.:(
And yes, I went through and made sure all of the hoses and fmic piping was tight.

With this heavy air the car may be having trouble making power and the ECU is holding back a lil bit.

Absolutely, my car runs like a dog in this thick humid air. Rainy days I feel like I'm down 25whp. What are you using for boost control?

It's an MBC. It'll run or reach its target plus or minus very little. It does not have any internal correction factors :) Check bpv, piping, core - etc, air filter.
Note: 95% of gauges on the market are junk.

Checked bpv, intercooler piping, hoses, and air filter. Everything ckecks out good. It's just weird that it was fine a few days ago and now the gauge is showing it's down a bit.

On the subject of gauges; I bought a Faze 0-30psi boost gauge used off of someone on the SRT forum years ago. That crummy little gauge is dead nuts accurate and consistant. I broke three Pro-Comp junk gauges before this one.
