View Full Version : Some dick hit my car

So T and I go and get some breakfast this morning. I find a nice big empty parking lot to park in. Well when we get done eating and come out there is this old Volvo parked next to me. Paranoid as I am about the paint I check my car out. Sure enough the prick hit my car with his door. I visualized how it would open and it lined up perfectly.
So whats the best way to get this out. The silver scuffs I think I can get out with a clay bar, some buffing, and some elbow grease. But there is a small chip in the paint (*****ty Subaru paint), should I fill that with some touchup? What's the best way to go about that?
I have the guys license plate but I don't know if it would be worth going after.
Any info would be helpful.

These are photos of my car, the car you see is the reflection of the car beside me.

that sux... The paint scuff will buff out i'm sure... If you can't get it let me know, There are some companies like dent wizard..., and color-all that do the chip repair... Using touch up doesn't alway look the best, so you could try a chip repair tech...Thats how it always works, You find a wide open spot in the back and some ashole will park right next to you(it seems almost on purpose sometimes) best of luck
Does that volvo have a front lip?

How much would something like that cost? I mean the chip is maybe 1mm x 2mm, you can barely see it. I'm just worried about it rusting or something along those lines.

Well I 'fixed' the chips, had moderate success.
I used some rubbing compound on the scratches after stripping the wax from my car. It got some of the scuffing out but the chips were worse that I thought. I filled them the best I could with some Subaru touch up paint and a toothpick. Followed with some rubbing alcohol. Then finished waxing the car with Mequire's paint cleaner, paint polish, and carnauba wax.
I'm still not pleased with the clear-coat the car has, it's been scratched up since I took delivery. From everything I read on NABISCO they seem to be coming that way from the factory.

That is the one thing I hate about Subaru. The paint quality is terrible.

You think they could still fix it even though I attempted to myself?

So I wasn't happy with my final result so I swung by my dealer ( Ocean Subaru ) to see what they could do. The guy helped me out. Looks great now.
So I'm happy now. -- grumble http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif .
