I don't have any personal experience with Stance coils other than seeing them in person before. The quality seems nice, but I expect they are similar to any other similarly priced coils (i.e. BC, ISC, etc...)

Everything I've heard is that they're on par with all the other entry coils.

..and to be that expensive says they aint worth a nickel. anyone noticed this about prices of basic things for japanese?

I am at 25 yrs on original struts and springs and dare anyone call a suspension problem.

better off making spacers, dropping heights all on ones own.

carzy as a cold air intake...and its price.

have fun.
something to talk about in the groupy fest to pay that much.

Stance coilovers are great, I have had two friends use their coilovers on their cars (admittedly, both not subarus) and the ride wasn't that bad, and the product was very durable.

I know a dealer in the Mass area if you want to talk to someone about a stance set up.

Oh REALLY!

Not only are they sweet, but if you ever had issues with the coilovers, they are right here in good ole New England to help you out. No shipping across the country or even overseas. Heck, you could drive down to mass and have them checked out/fixed/replaced all in the same afternoon.

just sayin...

Bought my 00' in October with 138k. Not nearly a year later I'm at 162k(10k since new motor) now... A year's driving for the cost of entry coilivers does not sound good to me. You should beable to get AT LEAST two season for that much money. OR doing Koni inserts with Gound Control springs or another good spring.

98Wagoon

just over 10k for me since april.. so.. 3/4 of the way through the suspensions life would have passed me by in..... 5 months?

To be fair, im using them not for there intended purpose and regularly test my suspension lol

My girlfriend complains everytime we hit a bump. It'll jar your kidneys loose. Or in her case, make her boobs hurt.

I thought the car you have coilovers on doesn't drive anymore? did you switch them to your working OBS?

plus, I believe Rckstr drives his car with BC's in the winter... maybe we should have him chime in since his opinion would be relevent to this discussion.

Plus, what does winter have to do with it? Does Salt and sand change the way the coils work? :iam:

You should see a set of coil threads after just one winter! Good luck adjusting those lock rings if teyre not kept clean.

Omnipowers. No dampening setting. Also, gd coils on a gf. Also, only 2.5" of max travel due to slammage.

I have.... It's all in how they are maintained. If you stay on top of keeping them clean you are fine. But most people don't do that.

The entry level ones I got rid of after a year just before the car was taken off the road to be started. What's on it now are Whiteline G4's if I remember are Whiteline specs made by KW.
The SVX has a custom set that is indeed locked in place from pervious owner of the coils not keeping them clean.

Keeping them clean is indeed the key but for the money you can get Koni inserts with a good spring combo. I DD my 2000OBS with STi inverted struts and GDB spec EiBach springs and also autocross it. Will at some point switch to KYB GR2 struts. If I had more funds to lend to my 00' I'd donthe Koni inserts and switch to RCE Yellow springs.

Haha with my cars ride height and where I live, id have to put the thing up on the lift at work every other day just to keep them clean lol

And yeah! 5" front, 4.5" rear.. and these can still go down another 2" front and 2.5 rear.. which is why I got them. When I replace them ill be using racelands simply because they are cheap and designed to be dumped!

Your issue with stiffness is your preload on the spring and piston due to the height setting.

^:likebutton: Many others do a coil "sleeve" that they Velcro or zip or however they set up up around the coils and threaded section to avoid direct spray and contact from road contaminants. Many say it works great. Still vote better investments than entery level coilovers.

My racelands on my rabbit I coated the threads with anti seize and clear coated the rest of the strut. Worked great, they didn't rust or seize . To bad I can't say the same for he rabbit it self . :(
