so the other day the car decided to start acting up on me i was told to replace the coolant temp sensor and check the coilpack for damages.

long story short, i replaced the coolant temp sensor and the coilpack, i removed the MAP sensor, TPS, IAC and throughly cleaned them with electrical parts cleaner. well.........

something messed up on the subaru.... after i got it to run it was idling and reving freely and perfectly.. go for a guick spin and then this happens. this is when i got back, first revs are holding the gas to the floor, second set is slowly pressing the gas

any ideas as to what it might be? also i poped the hood and had it idle and the motor was bouncing around like someone on a mechanical bull. i quickly shut it off and have decided to give up for the day

perfect intervals.
awesome.
I wouldn't even fix it. :)

I guess IAC..on older that would be air bypass. transition from idle to run.
the carb days, when this happened to a bleeder. pops thu carb or exhaust side and similar outcome on full throttle.

fuel injector connectors. bad "new" coilpack. bad "new" coolant temp sensor.
coil unplugged or plugged in part way. missed connector. left something dirty in one of the parts you "cleaned"

try resetting the ECU. unplug battery and plug back in.

just some things to check..
:dunno:

keep us posted.

i have no idea what happened.. i got up this morning and just sat in the car to see if it would still do it and it didnt.. drove it around the block and did so perfectly. drove it to work and not a hickup.

i think something got wet that shouldnt have and it just needed to dry out.

i have noticed tho that it idles at 2k now tho. but i beleive thats due to my tight throttle cable
