Hey guys, so I've had the ISC coils installed for over a month now. Since the day I got them they've making creaking, clicking, and squeaking noises. At first they were coming from the front right and front left. But for some reason now the front right does not make any sounds now. But the front left still makes all those noises. Does anyone have any idea to what could be causing these noises? I do apparently have the thrust bearing upgrade, if that changes anything.
Thanks in advance for the help!
Jack

My ISC 's do the same thing so i am interested in what you find out
I remember a bunch of people on LGT noting that about ISC's as well.

Have you contacted AJW about the noises? Maybe they can look into why the noise is being made and come up with a fix.
My BC coilovers don't make any of the mentioned noise above.

Mine also creak quite a bit too, from every angle of the car.

Do you guys both have the thrust bearings?
Also, did you try loosening the nut on top? I heard that they can be too tight from the factory.

I've brought it to AJW since that's where I got it installed, but when I brought it there they couldn't get it to do it. I was also in the car but I could hear it but wasn't loud enough so he could I guess.
I was told that the thrust bearings were installed, so I guess we can rule that one out in my situation. I was hoping that it would have just been that lol

It's just something I live with for stance and sick cornering.

I have the ISC's on my 11 STi and have no noises except this one time under hard cornering. However, on my 05, the damn things wouldn't shut up. I did the loosening the nut up thing and it worked mostly. Then I got the thrust bearings and they were good.

Yeah they can't seem to find out what's making the noise. Everytime I bring my car around there and they drive it they can't hear it. But everytime I leave hearing the damn noise. The other day I took it there to have my front mount installed plus the downpipe. I asked them to check out something that was wrong with the shifter and I got the car back and the shifter was worse than when I left the car. rediculous.

defending the product instead of the owner.
that is terrible.
it seems they are popular enough, a backyard guru could find the noise..
did camber geometry change?
subes can fight itself pretty easy.
the last row and top row of spring have a flat mate? both round could give a kricker...
rubber gaskets?
alot more ways to make noise than stay quiet.

On this matter, I dont know what to tell you. You installed the short shifter. We checked because you claimed it was loose. There was nothing loose. Short shifters make noise. Period.
Feel free to bring the car back, well be happy to help you Jack. We can try to duplicate it but on the ten mile road test I did in your car last time you were here I could not get the car to duplicate the noise you speak of. Coilovers make noise. They make your car more rigid to allow you to handle better. Maybe its because Ive driven a car with coilovers for 4 years that I'm immune, even still that 2011 didnt make noise. Heres what Megan Racing has to say about it:
http://www.meganracing.com/tech/faqs.asp?id=37&subject=CDK (http://www.meganracing.com/tech/faqs.asp?id=37&subject=CDK):
Also, my tech did point out that your fender was creaking. Thats probably the noise you hear. Not from the suspension.
SubySpeed07STi. We have the thrustbearings in stock for you whenever you need a set. Ill send PM.

Yep you received the 55.00 thrust bearing for free installed :)
a more rigid chassis will create more noise

I know this thread is old, but I gotta say it, having driven around on these things for the past 6-7 months they are beyond terrible. I have driven in other cars with other coilovers, and these are the worst I have felt. The ride quality is utter garbage and keeps getting worse. You can feel EVERYTHING in the road. My car is slammed because according to ISC spec's they can't be raised any higher. Don't know what that is about. Can't wait to go back to stock struts and and some RCE springs, which, by the way, are taking forever to ship. FML.

coilovers that are functioning properly should not make noises. i have been driving coilover cars for years, and if they make noise, that means there is a problem. out of all the brands ive installed on peoples cars, megans are the only ones that have made strange noises.. but megans/godspeeds are nothing to write home about. i have a customer with about 40k on his tein flex's, and they have never made any strange sounds, and he lives 1.5 miles down a dirt road. i havent personally used ISC's but from the sounds of the reviews ive heard, im going to continue reccomending BC's if you want a good suspension for under $1k

You should have given us a shout so we could have fixed them for you or sent you replacements, harsh ride and noise should not be characteristics of a mid range coilover; especially the ISC's.

ISC's are mid range? I always thought of them as entry..

Whatever price range you consider entry, mid, or high end is irrelevant in terms of me trying to help you (we sell 500.00 to 2500.00 coilovers usually so for our line it is mid range). I was trying to say that we would be happy to replace them for you, because that would fix the problem if they are defective rather than just complaining about them... want you to enjoy them :)
If you would like send us an email and we will get this going
have a good weekend everyone
