I'm moving in with Jeff and his family.. hopefully I'll be moving down early to mid June!

The only thing that sucks.. insurance is 2500/year.. and I have to shell out SALES TAX!!!! It's only like $200.. but wtf.:spin:

Yep.. gas costs more, everything costs more, insurance is sky high, licence plates look ****ty, cops suck, sales tax on everything...

"yeah I wanna buy that TV"... "ok sir its going to be $125 more than the listed price because Massachusetts deserves some money for helping to sell this TV"

Basically with taxes etc, you need to up your income by about 20% just to be living the same lifestyle as in NH....
Did you get a raise?

Yea taxes are going to suck.. I pay 18% right now.. and I'll be paying about 30% when I move down... I'm still going to be coming to NH.. so I probably will still my things I need and want there..

No I didn't get a raise... But I am going to get a new job once I move down.. I'm looking into a Civil Service job with the State of Mass. Which in all honesty isn't that bad.. good benefits.. pay is meh.. but I really don't have that may expenses down there.. just car, rent, insurance, and gas.. and because I'm living with Jeffs family I won't have to buy food! I'm pretty damn excited about that!

Yeah I'm not really knocking it, just saying be prepared for the increase, its subtle sometimes but it adds up fast!

if ur just going to be living with the parents... why not keep ur perm residence in NH and just "sleep" in MA.... especially since living with jeffs parents is probably temporary

Actually, living with Jeffs parents isn't going to be temporary.. I will probably live with them for a few years.. Jeff is starting to save up for a house and as soon as I'm settled I'll be doing the same.

Also, Jeff doesn't want to get an appartment.. he thinks it's a waste of money.

So in the long run it's better for me to Change everything.. plus.. in mass they have a hotline you can call on people who live in mass but "live" in another state.. I don't want to deal with the bull****. Plus I don't want to keep my current address.. that would mean I'd have to go back there.. most of you know how I feel about where I live.. I never wasnt to have to go back there.

Oh I know it adds up fast.. I'm going to be spending $850 the first week I'm down there.

Living in Mass. isn't always as bad as you might think. ;)

Of course, I am in a different age bracket than some of the folks here. lol

Back when I moved down, my car insurance cost went DOWN while my coverage went up.

Owning a home can be more.. attractive in Mass too, depending on where you are (in both states.)
Some towns in NH have such high taxes that it actually costs MORE than it does in Mass. Renting, of course, is a different matter.

Of course, we have bigger crowds and more traffic. :(
But there are more jobs, as a rule. ;)

All things considered... well, I would rather live in NH but between work and the house.... yeah, stuck in Mass for the foreseeable future myself.

Shop in NH as much and FOR as much as you can, of course. :D

More traffic and more people is one thing I'm really going to have to get used to.. way different then Portsmouth.

I really do want to move back to NH at some point.. but it all depends on what happens in Jeff and I's life.

And I do plan on shopping in NH for almost everything.. I plan on coming on day a week.

If you plan on attending some type of college you can keep your NH license :)

I don't want to keep my NH license. If i keep it that means i have to get a po box because I never want to have to go back to my moms house ever again.

I would have to get a po box also.. thats a pain.

Plus i plan on getting a job down there.. it's too much hassle to keep my NH license.

That's funny, I got a raised and I'm not even working there now.
Good luck on the move. I'll be down that way Monday the 26th if you and Jeff want to meet up.
