Just wondering if any one here is running a blow through maf set up, and if they tuned it them selves or not. I'm going to attempt to tune for this in a few days, a soon as I get my WBo2 back up and running. I've spent the last week tuning my maf tables and got them spot on, so I hope tuning for blow through should be doable. Any feed back on prior experience would be appreciated. I'll post my progress as I go along.

might want to check out nasioc.

If I go with a front mount I'm doing a blow through maf for sure.

can't wait to see the results though.

I've read all the threads on nasioc and the romraider forums and have a good handle on it, but I didn't know if anyone local has any experience. I guess you never really know how it's going to work until you do it your self.
If I am successful, I hope I can help all the guys and gals on here with fmic to do the same. Blow through is the way to go.

My perrin blow through big maf pipe came in today, so with any luck and it should be in and drivable by tonight! i also have a set of DW 850cc injectors to install too, but it is impossible to do both at the same time and tune them, so I'll do one at a time.

I'll post some pics and results tonight.

Hmmm sounds badass.

As a thought to remain cautious. I am no worry wort about the transmission but I think you are actually getting close to the fatigue limit on the 5 speed.

What is blow through? Just placing the maf downstream of the turbo?

Yeah it's down flow and after the ic so your intake air temps are more accurate and the air flow reading is taken from the air about to go into the intake manifold rather then before the turbo eliminating some hesitation caused by having a fmic and a few feet of pipe between the turbo and the manifold.

I still don't really get why they call it a blow through.

That is like calling the standard one before the turbo a suck through MAF. Eh just a little rant.

It is a nice idea to have the reading after the intercooler. More accurate but only to an extent. With the formulas in place via the Subaru ECU I wouldn't think it would make much of a difference.

Is this a big change is accuracy?

So the install is complete. I ended up using the cobb short ram for now and plugging up the maf hole. The perrin big maf pipe is 77mm id compared to 65mm stock so the whole maf table has to be scaled along with some adjustment to the tip in enrichment. I got everything close but not dead on yet. I've noticed a huge difference in throttle response and a lot smoother powerband. Also the intake temp has been a lot closer to ambient temp. It also doesn't heat soak while sitting in traffic like before with the hor ram intake. I think after it is fine tuned it will be a big improvement over the stock location with a FMIC. Here are some pics. The maf is on it's side and I reused the stock bpv for now and just vented it. It sounds sweet!

looks good man

you buy the perrin boost tube or just cut out for the maf and tap the holes?

I'm torn between a front mount or a griffin tmic. the blow through maf would is a big plus running a fmic.
