I have not looked yet but would love to find a place.
I have seen people doing it home style with clamps though.

Yeah. They have a tool for it. Personally I would just pick up a different set of front fenders.
You can get widebody ones for both the WRX and Evo's

$50/corner (so $100 for the rear) to have them done at DSG. Or, $85/hr for 3 hours labor totalling $255 at Synaptic 3. OR, rent the tool for $85 for 5 days from JnJ Associates and do as many cars as you can in that 5 days. Your pick.:)

2008+ 13,000 miles + car payment= Not a chance!
I am wicked scared about screwing up the paint, otherwise I would be all for the baseball bat.

LOL, thats too much of a liability if I screw one up. I've let Rob borrow the tool and he did his just fine, just have to keep the heatgun moving along the paint to soften it up.

Mine were done by Synaptic and it came out fine.. although I have heard a few things recently were it didn't come out so well when Synaptic did it.... but its mostly hearsay.
Had mine done at DSG. I felt stupid for not doing it myself with how easy he made it look. There was a slight cracking in the paint on one corner, but we threw some rust-proof paint on it...hasn't rusted through yet :)
Now I'm wondering if I can fit 245/40/17 under the wagon

fender rolling from what i hear is super sketchy no matter how you do it.
i guess like atleast 7 times out of 10 its gonna make the paint crack.
Which is why i suggested the baseball bat manuever :D

You can crack the paint with a baseball bat just as easy.

no your garunteed to crack it with baseball bat treatment
but from what i hear from your pros (guys that been in the body biz for many many years back when that was the only way to do it) if you don't care and understand what your getting into thats the best route just take your time and go really slow. and make sure you use a wooden bat since metal one is garunteed to f up your body and make sure to do your home work before doing it.
But honestly its up to you. I think it also depends on skill level and how fast you wanna get it done haha.
From reading around they say fender rolling tool is the quickest and obviously easiest route to getting it done.
DSG= Dent Sport Garage, and I believe they are in Mass.
I really don't want to eff my paint up.... any other way to get some clearence?

They are in Norwood, MA.
It can be done without cracking (be very careful, extremely slow and get the heat EXACTLY right) but there is no guarantee. It is pretty easy to fix if you do though becuase it is on a place that people rarely see..i'm pretty anal and it only bothered me a little.
Being able to jam in wider tires definitely made up for the disappointment :)
