Pretty intense. I really want to go here sometime in the next few years after they finish some of the current construction projects.

Final estimated height (I sure hope they planned it out pretty well... doesn't seem like the thing you want to leave ambiguous lol) is secret but is rummored to be 3,086 feet. Wow!

Mt lafayette in NH is only 4000 feet.
It's almost as tall as mountain!

On another note, I have been to Dubai and oil rich is right!
It will have cost $1.14 billion by the time it is completed.
This is a 3 billion dollar project in the US  Labor is dirt cheap there.

After this building is complete, the consturction industry in that area is ****ed to say the least, right now they are employing thousands of people to build this one pointless building, and when its done all the workers go, where? I saw something about this a few months ago when they mentioned what i said, they dont have any work scheduled nearly enough to cover half the employees.
maybe they will build another man made island, stupid engineers need to get some common sense. I watched my safety engineer at work spend almost a half hour figuring out how to make a comealong work...Talk about pethetic.

In sense, he is correct.
99% of the wealth is controlled by 1% of the population.
There really isn't a Middle class. Only Super rich and dirt poor.
Kinda like America if there were only Republicans

This is why there are so many construction projects over there right now. They know once the oil runs out, there's not going to be enough income in the area to keep their infrastructure running. They're trying to turn the area into a tourist trap. There's plans for a Ferrari theme park and palm tree-shaped island resort.

Actually the entire region is construction-crazy. They are basically taking every dollar they are making and putting it back into the infrastructure. They are building structures like no other. There are many many thousands of people in construction there but the good side is, alot of what they are building is industry. The industry that is being built will open up jobs to replace the construction of the industry itself.
Right now, a majority of the structures in Dubai are under construction... and there are plans for much much more.
